Another powerlifting medal was secured for Team Nigeria as Olaitan Ibrahim clinched bronze medal in women’s -67kg on Saturday, Completesports.com reports.
Ibrahim lifted a weight of 119kg to place third and bring Nigeria’s overall tally so far in Tokyo to three medals, all won in powerlifting.
Earlier on Saturday, Lucy Ejike won bronze in women’s -61kg finishing behind Mexico’s Amalia Perez (gold) and Uzbekistan’s Ruza Kuzieva (silver).

Also on Saturday, Nigeria’s Kingsley Ijomah competed in men’s rowing Repechage 1 Singles Sculls, for a chance to compete in the final on Sunday.
Ijomah finished 5th in 11:15.07, and will now compete in final B. He’s the 1st African male athlete to qualify for Rowing at the Paralympics.
