Ese Brume missed out on a podium finish in the women’s long jump event at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games.
Ese finished in 5th position in the final with a mark of 6.70m.
The 28-year-old won bronze medal in the event three years ago in Tokyo.

Ruth Usoro and Prestina Ochonogor, the two other Nigerians in the final also failed to make it to the podium.
It was the first time Nigeria will field three athletes in the final of an individual event at the Olympics .
Nigeria is yet to win a medal at the games.

Even Brume too!!??? The lady that won bronze at the last Olympics in Tokyo!!?? 3 Nigerians in the final and the 3 finished as the last 3 (5th, 6th & 7th).
Chai! NOC and AFN never prepared for this Olympics. If I be Tinubu, I would have sacked the board right now and suspended the whole damn thing! In fact, 20% of the staff will remain after thorough vetting.
At this rate, I’ll be surprised if Tobi wins gold in 100m hurdles event. I’m seriously having doubts now.
