Barcelona are set to make a January approach for Girona forward Cristhian Stuani, according to reports in the Spanish media. The Catalans have relied heavily on their star frontmen Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez for goals, with the duo netting 31 between them so far this term but, with the latter injured and Munir El Haddadi departing for Sevilla last week, they find themselves short of options.
Stuani has enjoyed a solid first half of the season, bagging 12 goals from 17 appearances, and it seems as though he has caught the attention of Nou Camp chiefs.
Barcelona-based newspaper Sport has Barca’s pursuit of Uruguayan international Stuani all over its front page, with a fee of 15m euros quoted for the former Middlesbrough ace.
Newspapers AS and Marca also claim the La Liga champions have held talks with the players’ agent about a mid-winter switch of clubs.
