Loan signing Youri Tielemans will bring “something different” to Leicester City, according to boss Claude Puel. The Belgian international joined the club from Monaco on transfer deadline day but was left out of the matchday squad when the Foxes lost to Manchester United on Sunday.
However, Puel insists the 21-year-old will be an important player for the team in the remaining 15 games of the Premier League season, but he doesn’t see him performing in the number 10 role.
Puel said: “No, he doesn’t have the attributes to play number 10, but he can play with another midfielder in front of the defence or play as one of three midfielders and get box-to-box. “I think in this situation he can shoot and provide a good clinical edge. He can bring something different to our game.”

Tielemans, used largely as a box-to-box midfielder in Ligue 1, could make his Leicester debut away to Tottenham on Sunday, but Puel stopped sort of confirming his debut. “We will see in training if he can start quickly or needs more time to be ready for the English game,” the manager added. “We will see, but I think he will give us good possibility and other options.”
