Marseille’s Florian Thauvin is said to be seeking an exit having reportedly spoken to Valencia about a move away. The 26-year-old has started to fulfil his potential in his second spell at the Stade Velodrome and was part of France’s 2018 World Cup-winning squad, coming on as a late substitute in the last-16 win over Argentina.
Thauvin recently scored his first goal for Les Bleus against Andorra but has a reputation as a player who gets itchy feet and is said to be seeking a summer exit. The winger was absent from Sunday’s friendly against Rangers due to an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for the next three to four weeks and that could give him time to seal his departure.
Valencia finished fourth last season in La Liga and Thauvin reportedly wants to be part of their Champions League campaign after Marseille’s failure to qualify for European football. After allegedly making an initial approach, Los Che would also be able to offer him a bumper salary, with a bid rising to 35m euros believed to be in the works amongst the Mestalla hierarchy.
