Stuart Pearce says Huddersfield Town are only playing for pride this season as Premier League relegation draws closer. It has been a dismal campaign for Huddersfield and they currently sit rock-bottom of the table having amassed just 14 points from 31 games, leaving the West Yorkshire outfit 16 points from safety.

Jan Siewert replaced David Wagner in January but the new manager has failed to have the desired effect, with the Terriers losing six of their seven games since the change at the top. Former England international Pearce believes the basement boys are only playing for pride from now until the end of the season and plans are already in motion for the Championship.
“I think, really, they’re looking at next season and springing back from the Championship again,” he said on Sky Sports News. “They’ve had a wonderful elevation into the Premier League, earned some money, improved their squad and now they’ve got to bounce back next year.”
