After months and months of relentless hype, his Super Eagles curtain raiser was something of a damp squib after coming in for the ineffective Onuachu in the Cameroon Friendly.
Those sort of chances will be fewer and farther in between for Moffi in the Super Eagles when the business end of the world cup qualifiers commence.
This is because of the glut of quality and controversial options available for Super Eagles selection.
Being named player of the season for Lorient is clearly an attention grabbing headline. He will need to follow this up with attention grabbing goals next season to be in the fray for future Super Eagles invitation.
If he does secure an invitation, Moffi will now need to produce a tourch bearing performance for Nigeria otherwise he will be seen as light weight in international football despite heavy weight club performances.
