Nigeria has secured promotion to Davis Cup World Group II after beating Ghana in the ongoing Group III Africa qualifiers in Abuja.
The five-day competition ended on Saturday, 20 July, after keenly contested matches that thrilled fans.

The road to Nigeria’s promotion to World Group II was down to the efforts of Christopher Bulus and Micheal Emmanuel.
They beat the Ghanaian duo of Abraham Asaba and Isaac Nortey, winning with identical scores of 6-3, 6-2.
After the conclusion of the competition, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire were relegated to Group IV, while the Benin Republic remained in Africa Group III.
Zimbabwe and Namibia are the other countries joining Nigeria in World Group II, having also secured impressive wins at the event.
