Tennis stars, Nick Kyrgios and John Millman, have voiced their concerns over Jannik Sinner’s escape from a doping ban.
Sinner, who tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid clostebol during the Indian Wells tournament on March 10, was declared free of the doping allegation on Tuesday, August 20, by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).

The Italian successfully appealed the results, arguing that the substance was accidentally transferred by his physiotherapist.
Rattled by the ITIA’s judgment, Kyrgios expressed his disbelief on X (formerly Twitter), describing it as “ridiculous.”
“Ridiculous—whether it was accidental or planned,” Kyrgios wrote on X. “You get tested twice with a banned substance… you should be gone for 2 years. Your performance was enhanced. Massage cream… Yeah, nice.”
Millman also took to X (formerly Twitter), calling for a review of substances considered unwanted.
“Maybe we should change the threshold to account for contamination,” he wrote. “Furthermore, the ITIA handled this 1000 times better than the butcher job with Simona [Halep]… Jannik is about as good a person as exists on tour. At least read the report before you pass judgment.”
