Katie Taylor has her sights set on a showdown with Amanda Serrano, according to Brian Peters.
WBA and IBF lightweight champion Taylor is undefeated as a professional and will put that record on the line when she goes up against WBO holder Rose Volante on March 15.
Taylor is eager to unify the division and has previously made noises about going on to face undisputed champion Serrano in the near future.
A bout with Serrano would break box office records for women’s boxing and Taylor’s manager, Peters, admits they need to maintain those standards going forward.
He insists Taylor understands the need to follow the money and claims that would likely rule out a fight in Ireland.
Peters said: “Katie knows TV money makes these deals happen. We are all answerable to somebody.
“We’ve had numerous discussions about it and of course Katie would love to fight at home, but she wants to be the biggest and best fighter in the world and to conquer America.
“If all goes to plan, she will be fighting Amanda Serrano later this year and that could see the first fight between two undisputed world champions since the 1930s.
“A super-fight like that really would make her the million dollar baby. It takes money and it needs prime-time TV to make this happen, so I don’t think Katie will ever fight in Ireland.”
