Nuno Tavares is expected to undergo medical tests with Lazio this weekend after the Bianconcelesti reached a full agreement with Arsenal and the player’s entourage, Football Italia reports.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lazio have reached a full agreement with Tavares’ agents.
He said on X, formerly Twitter, that the left full-back has agreed to sign a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
The two clubs are exchanging documents, and the 24-year-old is expected to undergo medical checks in the capital this weekend.
Tavares will formally join Lazio on loan, but the deal includes an obligation to buy, so the final cost of the package is around €9m. Arsenal also have a sell-on clause.
Lazio director Angelo Fabiani revealed a few days ago that the club had an agreement in place with Arsenal and that he was confident the Portuguese would join the club.
Tavares returned to Arsenal after a one-year loan at Nottingham Forest where he made 12 appearances across all competitions.
