Tanimu Targets Championship Promotion With Crawley Town

Nigeria defender, Benjamin Tanimu says his main target is to win promotion to the Sky Bet Championship with Crawley Town.

Tanimu was signed by the League One outfit from Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars on transfer deadline day.

The centre-back put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

“I’m thrilled to be here,” he told the club’s official website.

“Growing up in Nigeria, we all watched the English Premier League, so coming to England is a huge step for me. I’m very happy to join Crawley Town.

“Coming to England is a great opportunity for me to showcase my abilities,” he continued. “I’m also here to help Crawley Town reach the highest level of English football.”

Tanimu confessed the move to England came as a surprise to him.

“I was surprised to be coming to England,” he added.

“I had offers from several African countries, but when I heard about Crawley’s interest, I thought, ‘Why not?’ So I jumped at the chance. I’m a player who is always ready to learn, and work hard to improve, and I love winning.”
