A supercomputer has revealed the club that will be crowned winner of the 2021/2022 Premier League this season.
According to CIES Football Observatory’s supercomputer, Chelsea who are currently top on the log will not win the English top-flight.
With Thomas Tuchel embarking on his first full season as manager at Stamford Bridge and the return of Romelu Lukaku in a £97.5million deal, it’s easy to see why Chelsea are expected to challenge for the title.
But despite that, the supercomputer has the West Londoners finishing way off the pace.
In fact, Chelsea are predicted to finish fourth based on their stats-based algorithm.
CIES Football observatory take a host of information into consideration when crunching the numbers, including form over the past year, transfer fees spent and even individual player experience.
And for those reasons, Manchester City are being tipped to win the Premier League crown yet again – their fourth title in five years.
Fresh from a huge summer, including the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, arrival of Jadon Sancho and signing of Raphael Varane, Manchester United are expected to finish second again, as they did in 2020-21.
It’s predicted Liverpool – finally boasting a fully-fit defence, while reinforcing with the signing of Ibrahima Konate – will finish third for a second straight season.
With Chelsea set to finish fourth, the Premier League top-four is expected to look identical to last term, according to CIES Football Observatory.
Tottenham, Everton, Leicester and West Ham will lead the charge for the remaining European places, with Arsenal way down in ninth, according to the prediction.
