Kenneth Omeruo has said the Super Eagles will fight hard to beat Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in their upcoming friendlies.
Jose Peseiro’s men will take on the Green Falcons in their first friendly at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao on Friday (today).
The highly anticipated encounter will
kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
The three-time African champions will then face the Mambas of Mozambique in the second friendly at the same venue on Monday.
Omeruo stated that the Super Eagles will be gunning for victories in both games.
“We look forward to having a good game and win both games as we prepare for the AFCON and the World Cup qualifiers,” Omeruo told a press conference ahead of the game against Saudi Arabia
“It’s not enough to have a great team, which we already do.

“The coach told us in our meeting that we have to have that mentality that we will win the next game.
“We have to have a winning mentality, which is important for the confidence of the team.”
Omeruo, who won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title with Nigeria also have positive things to say about the Saudi Arabia team.
“Playing Saudi Arabia is a good step for us. There are lot of changes in their team, we saw them beat Argentina at the World Cup. It is good a thing to play all these games before the World Cup qualifiers,” he added.
Hatayspor of Turkey midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been handed a maiden invitation for the friendlies.
Omeruo praised the 22-year-old and other new players in the team.
“They are top players. I have trained with them. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, I already played against him in Turkey. They are really good players.”
