Contrary to reports making the rounds, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were not thrown out of the gym at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos where they are camped.
According to the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Babafemi Raji who was present at the gym session, it was a minor misunderstanding between an assistant manager at the hotel and his members of staff on the usage of the gym facilities.
Adding that some team officials had to get involved as the manager’s action caused a huge distraction to the team’s training.
“We were scheduled to train just within the hotel with the gym session coming first then the outdoor volley session next. However, just as we wrapped up the gym session, one of the hotel managers came in to inspect and while the team trained at a section of the gym just doing light stretches, he yelled at his members of staff and that caused a distraction to the team’s session which, although light, required concentration,” Raji narrated.

” While the back and forth between the manager of the hotel, his staff and some officials of the Super Eagles was on, the gym session continued and lasted 45 minutes, which was 15 minutes more than the earlier scheduled 30 minutes, coach of the team, Gernot Rohr called the entire team together to give instructions on the next session which was the volley outdoor session,”
15 players were involved in the training on Monday evening.
Five players; Maduka Okoye, Terem Moffi, Jamilu Collins, Valentine Ozorwanfor and Innocent Bonke joined the team’s camp later in the evening.
The Super Eagles will have their first official training session at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday.

Lies upon lies shameless country. Our home ground is now looking like away. I have tried not to comment on happenings again but this is just too much and they’re still coming up with more lies to cover up their mess.
This forum was already getting hot because of the earlier news by owngoalnigeria without even going into details of what really happened….. sometimes we tend to react to issues with emotions rather that logic…..I know the condition of the country can drive a normal person crazy but we still need to keep calm and keep our heads firm…..It’s all a game at the end of the day and it’s all for the love we have for this beautiful game of football…..We should not be too critical,we should not be too abusive to each other,we should not jump into conclusion just because we hear an unverified news,we should not hate,we should not call each other names,we should not disrespect each other, because all these counters the very ensence of football which is love and unity in the world.
Why the sensational reportage from Complete Sports? Why tell readers lies?
This explanation makes no sense tho….lol. Argument btw hotel manager and his staff, distraction all bs.
U guys should not be worried we will win
Why is my gut feeling telling me NFF is owing the hotel….?! Or what explanations (apart from this political, damage control statement by the SE media Officer) can one have for a manager coming to make a scene for minutes right where the National team is training.
Eko o gba gbere…..Lagos no dey tolerate nonsense.
NFF, shebi na Una wan move go Lagos….Una go see shege.
Una dey heaven before for Uyo- fantastic city, clean and traffic free roads, good weather, world class stadium, clean, neat and hospitable environment, e no do Una….Una say na hellfire good pass. Ngwanu welcome to Lagos wia nobody come count bridge.
NFF, make Una pay whoever Una dey owe….pls don’t jeopardize and sabotage our WC campaign because you want to have a concrete reason sack Rohr.
NFF is owing the hotel. All this explanation na tales by moonlight.
NFF, awon onigbese!
CHRONIC DEBTORS!
“. . . . However, just as we WRAPPED up the gym session, one of the hotel managers came in to inspect and while the team TRAINED at a section of the gym just doing light stretches, he yelled at his members of staff and that caused a distraction to the team’s session . . .”
A highly contradictory report, meaning that these were poorly thought up lies . . . they had wrapped up their gym session but still trained at a section of the gym.
When will these distractions at SE’s training grounds come to an end? The other day it was the minister and NFF boss “dazzling” spectators with their footwork. But they were unavailable for selection in the main game. The next thing, an all-night musical band will be blaring sounds from their loudspeakers to render the place uninhabitable.
Yet performance gurus warn us that all these supposedly light infractions are huge impediments to optimal productivity.
Has the Management of the hotel come out to say that the NFF is owing them?….has the spokesperson of the hotel come to the media to say that the NFF is owing them?….is the Gym the only services the hotel is rendering to NFF?…..why haven’t they thrown out the team entirely from the hotel by now?….. I am not defending the NFF here but I just don’t react to everything I hear on the media with emotions……I use my logic to reason before I react…..This online media outlets want traffic hence the sensational headline and we are all eating the bate hook line and sinker…..As I read the story my heart tremble but my head remains firm because I know journalism in Nigeria is also similar to other sectors of the country just as NFF is also similar to other sectors of the country…..The truth of the whole Matter will unfold in the coming days…. CHILL GUYS
Liars. All they good at is to tell fat lies.
This is the reason why I will keep mentioning NFF’ s name in my comments until they change their bad habits.
They have money to hired a private jet when
Amaju Pinnick, Tijani Babangida and co were going to Cameroon for Afcon draws but when it comes to well being of the Super Eagles players and their coaches, NFF and their troops will tell fat lies including the media.
I am using this medium to beg Amaju Pinnick, chai, what he can do freely in Uyo and any other states in Nigeria and go scot free, Lagos is different o.
If he doesn’t know now let me bring his attention to this oo.
The uniqueness of Lagos makes Lagos no1 state in Nigeria.
Nobody cares if you are Yorubas, Hausas or Igbos in Lagos. All we cares for is one love and unity of the Lagosians.
I can boldly say that Lagos is Nigeria and Nigeria is Lagos. We have every tribe in Lagos and every one is practicing is faith accordingly.
However, I think what happened is this, the last time Super Eagles played in Lagos, NFF haven’t cleared their bills and they made promises after promises that before hosting another game in Lagos, the hotel would be paid their money, which NFF haven’t.
You can write this and keep it somewhere for future reference. Super Eagles under Oga Rohr have have tasted the sweetness of Lagos and they saw what they were missing in other states and they feel like going back to those places rather than Lagos won’t be something they will agree with.
Lagos have fans and Lagos is the home of the Super Eagles.
Long story short, Amaju and his team should be cautious ⚠️.
This is why I am shaking my head for our first lady, madam Aisha Buhari. Chai, she may be disgraced in Lagos.
Nigerians are hungry and angry for daily bread while you and your husband are using the power just any how?
There’s nothing wrong in host a football tournament if everything is going well in Nigeria but at this particular time hosting such a tournament in such conditions, plus the video clip of an iPad and cell phone donated to their guests at her son’s wedding ceremony while majority of Nigerians can not afford three meal day and you are coming to their territory to host a football tournament? Abba, our first Lady is brutally wicked. She should be ready for Lagos show.
“According to the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Babafemi Raji who was present at the gym session, it was a minor misunderstanding between an assistant manager at the hotel and his members of staff on the usage of the gym facilities” Who is fooling who? Liar.
We are watching you very closely NFF.
I wish Oga Rohr and our beloved Super Eagles the best. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
WETIN PEOPLE EXPECT BABARAJI TO TELL NIGERIA.
