The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face five-time world champions, Brazil in a friendly match on October 13 at the National Stadium, Singapore, Completesports.com reports.
According to a release from the Brazilian Football Confederation, Rohr’s side was picked because they are ranked among the best two teams in Africa and also for their physical football.
The Selecao will first confront the Teranga Lions of Senegal on October 10 at the same venue.
Nigeria lost 3-0 to the South Americans in their last meeting in 2003 at the National Stadium in Abuja with Gil, Luís Fabiano and Adriano getting the goals.
The Super Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Ukraine in their last friendly encounter at the Dnipro Arena.
The former African champions will use the game as part of their preparation for November’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin and Lesotho.

Will look forward to that match.
Gone are those days when friendly matches are played on the pages of papers, Amaju pinic is really working.
This is the bomb. Where tf did that come from? I don begin shake laidiz ooooooo heheheheheh
Brazil whoa o this is a grade A friendly this is a welcome development kudos to nff for organizing such friendies matchr
This is a great sign that our football is beginning to do well, every good football playing nations now wants to play against Super eagles. All GR and Picnic critics should compare the present day of Nigeria football to the era of sani lulu, Maigari, late Stephen Keshi( funny and questionable team selection), Samson siasia and so on.
We are moving forward, days are gone when we play Macedonia, uzbekistan, malawi, and other and the funny thing is that they still beat us,kudos to pinnick and Rohr
It is a good development because at the end there will be a lot of positives to take from the friendly match outcome…
I hope all our stars remain injury free and available during and after the match…
I hope the likes of Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Agu Mikel as well Azubuike Okechuchwu will be there.
I also want Nigeria to start playing two matches in each FIFA Window.
I hope Cyriel Dessers of Heracles Almelo of the Netherlands gets his first Nigeria invite for the encounter. That guy is a born scorer just like Osimehn….
It is too good to believe o, let us wait until we are very sure! I’ve already told myself today is not April fool naw? Ok, if it’s real, pls oga rohr must be alerted to mikel agu and azubuike okechukwu as beef ups. Esiti giant player is a NO unless they are on a secret deal with Esiti. Ndidi, Aribo, Etebo, iwobi, okechukwu azubuike and mikel agu can hold forth against the samber boys of Brazil. Let our player just avoid inferiority complex during the game. Our players are good in defense midfield and attack. With uzoho behind them. But my fear is oga rohr! Weak and low level winning mentality coach. Rohr is not stubborn for victory. Too conservative and slow to reaction to changes able to swing victory to his team. Anyway we go dey manage am! A good coach has no explanations not winning against Ukraine. We shall see if the Brazil friendly is real.
“A good coach has no explanations not winning against Ukraine”……
Hmmmmmm…..that means Portugal, Serbia. Italy, Czech Rep and all other teams that haven’t been able to defeat Ukraine in the last one year both in the UEFA nations league and the Euro qualifiers must have bad coaches then…!
No two games are the same. That those teams you mentioned haven’t beaten Ukraine does not mean that they wouldn’t have beaten by Nigeria. I am sure your comment came from the fact that you like GR. The fact remains that he isn’t a great coach.
He might not be a Johan Cruyff, or an Alex Ferguson or a Pep Guadiola…but if not winning Ukraine makes him a bad coach, then the coaches of those teams must be bad too.
Lets give credit to who its due……for his money’s worth, Rohr has given us great value for money…!
Rohr,am busy now, when am free,i will give u the line up for the game and new layers to invite, kudos nff don,t mind them OK.
When we celebrate our rise up the fifa rankings….enemies of progress question the rationale behind it. This is one of the benefits…Big teams will always wanna play you.
We didnt ask for the Ukraine friendly, the Ukrainian FA looked for us….and what a run did we give the most in-form team in world football at the moment. They themselves know they were just lucky to escape without a home defeat against our young team with an average age of 22.5 years last week.
Now it is almighty Brazil that wants to play us and Senegal, irrespective of the fact that the two nations didn’t win the AFCON, the world still recognizes that these 2 are the best teams in Africa at the moment. FYI, Brazil doesn’t extend friendly invitations to any jack and harry…..they do so to the best in the various continents. Its a matter of policy. If you wanna play them, fine, send your letter to their FA and get ready to part with $1m to start with. So to be invited by Brazil to be a part of their global tour is quite interesting and fantastic, and boy, i’m already looking forward to that game.
Already, our draw against Ukraine “should” be enough to push us into the top 30 zone on the fifa rankings. Another favorable result against Brazil and likely wins against Benin and Lesotho in the ANQ in November should seal our position in that club…and by January, Nigerian players wouldn’t need more than 50-60% national team appearances to be eligible for a work permit in the EPL.
Yet enemies will say the team is not improving after 3 years of a dumb, tactless and useless coach like Rohr in charge…Lolz

Looking at this golden chance from a pure utilitarian angle, it’s time to pick the points and leapfrog up the FIFA scale. Kudos to Pinnick, the NFF, and Oga Rohr who are doing the hard, underground work.
Nigeria football is now a brand others want to identify with, largely due to the visionary leadership of the Nigerian football federation president and the coach.
They have both taken our game to the level we were once proud of.
Can somebody give me rhor contact let me call him in Germany becos we need dessers in the super eagle team.and he should go talk to eze and ejaria about swift of nationality becos this abramham thing is a scam.he is not for Nigeria
Kudos to the n.f.f you’ve done a very good job, pls don’t forget to call tammy Abraham we must not loss that talented striker to england, if we play 4.4.2 formation Abraham and Osimhen in the front imagine what will happen. Pls n.f.f try your possible best to convince this guy to represent the green white green flag
Guys to be honest we don’t stand a chance against the samba boys, the pace of Neymar,g.jesus, firminho and coutinho will be too much for us to handle ,nevertheless I expect a good game from both teams it’s going to be explosive.
We are gradually getting there
Is it not the same team Peru recently defeated? Let’s take it player by player, is Peru better than Nigeria. Guy put to bed this defeatist attitude and look forward to a good game from 2 good teams
Yet they lost to peru days ago…
My good coach please and please all we need is enyeama
Enyeama is not playing active football for now and he has no club, can’t bring anything to the super eagle young team
Enyeama was at lowly Dijon for trials before the beginning of the season but couldnt get a deal. That should tell you a lot.
Please we have moved on from Enyeama a long time ago….!
Enye-gini? No be only Enye, make dem invite Peter Rufai and Joseph Dosu join.
Enyeama the CALABAR NINJA is a legend of Nigerian football. Allow him to enjoy his retirement in peace.
Omo9ja won’t be swift to drop comment on headlines like this….. Lmfao
Playing Brazil in a friendly match is a big step up ooo… NFF and Rohr, very nice job there!
Omo9nja Don’t know anything about football. There is a rumor going round that he may have been banned from this place.
@Emeka. Why take us back
With we need enyeama. For your information he plays more of Golf than soccer. I just wonder why some people don’t reason before contributing on this forum. Forward
Ever backward never. Great friendly and big kudos to the Nfg
A good test for the Super Eagles. It is best to pitch yourself against the best to get an idea where you stand. Impossible is nothing. Peru, it must be remembered, ended Brazil’s 17-match unbeaten run in a recent friendly in Los Angeles. By the way, does anyone know why my post on Tammy Abraham as open to playing for Nigeria was deleted? I have posted here before and I am not one to use foul language.
Oga Rohr should invite more talented young players so that fight for places will be high and it will bring out the best in the team.

The progress 9ja football is making if continues, we won’t beg any oyibo born to switch, radar they should be begging to play for us.
I now enjoy reading Nigeria football news more than foreign.
All thanks to NFF and SE coach.
God bless 9ja
@Baddest you dont have to panic with GR in charge together with our latest position in fifa ranking nigeria will defeat brazil. Gr is the best coach in the world now real madrid and chelsea are beging him to dump nigeria and sign for them. no team can stop nigeria now because of the latest fifa ranking.
Brazil friendly is a good call at this moment, to test our strength.
I pray for Injury free on both teams.
My focus point on this match is the battle between Marcelo n Chukwueze…. I no fit shout
I really appreciate Nff and the coach for their commitment in giving super eagles the best preparation frendlies they desire before the qualification kicks off. I also thank for bringing in those young lads from abroad to join the super eagle. I will also recommend them to keep eyes on Daniel Okereke (FC BRUGES)
We are still waiting for the likes of Germany, england,Holland and France.next year.

I think it high time for the super eagles to compete with the best in the world .
What should I call this? Miracle or what? I think we are getting things right in recent time. Thanks to whoever is making this happen.
Peter Olayinka Oladeji, a Nigerian footballer, who plays as Forward for Slavia Prague in the Fortuna Liga just scored against almighty Inter Milan in San Siro in UEFA CHAMPIONS League.
Is this not more trouble for GR? I wonder what he will be thinking now…
Wow! When I saw this piece, I was just so glad within me. Things have really changed in Nigerian Football of recent and is still changing! Thanks to Coach GR and NFF President for this great works they are doing. For those already talking the team down ahead of the clash, Sorry for you cuz I believe in the Present Day SUPER EAGLES of Nigeria. We are the Brazil of Africa! We have lots of talents as much as they do so it’s gonna be battle that day. Our players might not be playing in Big clubs like them but still, skill to skill, talents to talents, WE MATCH THEM!!
Can’t Wait!!
i wish we too would have played a game before meeting Brazil, that way we would have been very ready just like Brazil playing fellow strong African country before meeting us……Still, kudos NFF
