Super Eagles goalkeeping prospect Stanley Nwabali helped Chippa United defeat Golden Arrows in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Saturday.
Prior to the win against Golden Arrows, Chippa United had failed to win their last six games (three defeats, three draws).
It was Nwabali’s 13th appearance in the PSL and has now kept seven clean sheets this season.
However, the 27-year-old has conceded 10 goals as Chippa United climb to 9th position on 18 points in the 16-team league standings.
Nwabali is being touted as a possible replacement for Francis Uzoho as Super Eagles number one.

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro visited Chippa United at their training ground in Gqeberha on Friday where he held talks with Nwabili.
The Portuguese was in the stands to watch Nwabali in action against Golden Arrows on Saturday.
Uzoho has been under fire following a number of high profile errors hence calls for his replacement.
Nwabali’s only appearance for the Nigerian senior men’s national team was in a friendly game against Mexico on July 2021 which a home-based Super Eagles side lost 4-0.

Good job, Nwabali. Just be focused. God is in control of everything. I know you are the best for the job. Just do your thing to the best of your ability whenever you call upon to represent Nigeria.
