Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was an unused substitute for Brighton who were held to a goalless draw at home by Watford, Completesports.com reports.
Balogun is yet to make a league appearance for Brighton in 2019 having made eight in 2019. The 30-year-old defender last made an EPL appearance for the Seagulls in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Boxing Day. He has been an unused substitute in five of Brighton’s last six games.
His Super Eagles teammate, Success was not included in Watford’s matchday squad for the game. He has played 22 games.
Chelsea bounced back from two consecutive loss to Arsenal and Bournemouth to beat Huddersfield Town 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard both scored braces before a thumping header from David Luiz made it 5-0.
Hazard’s brace took his tally to 16 (13 in the EPL and three in cup competitions) this season.
Burnley forced Southampton to a 1-1 draw at home. Nathan Redmond struck the opener for the Saints in the 55th minute but a goal in additional time from Ashley Barnes earned a share of the spoil for Burnley. Both teams are five points clear of the relegation zone.
At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace beat Fulham by 2-0 while Everton lost 3-1 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel made his league debut for Middlesbrough on Saturday in their 2-2 draw away with West Brom at the Hawthorns in the English Championship.
George Saville scored the opener in the 17th minute of the game but Jay Rodriguez restored parity for the Baggies a minute into half time.
Dwight Gayle shot West Brom into the lead for the first time in the 63rd minute but Britt Assombalonga leveled scores for Middlesbrough eight minutes later.
Assombalonga scored seven minutes from time to seal a crucial win for Tony Pulis’ side.
The game was Mikel’s second start since he joined the club in January. He was replaced in the 75th minute for Rajiv van La Parra.

At the KCOM Stadium, Super Eagles’ midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo made his 15th start for Store City who lost 2-0 away to Hull City.
A goal in each half from Jarrod Bowen and another from Kamil Grosicki condemned Stoke City to a consecutive defeat.
Etebo has made 20 Championship appearances so far this season, but is yet to score was cautioned in the 79th minute of the defeat.
Semi Ajayi featured for all 90 minutes in his 30th league start for Rotherham United who played a goalless draw against Millwall. The four-cap super Eagles defender has scored once.

Success has played 22 games for Watford. How many goals does he have to show for it? In my opinion, any striker (Nigerian or not) that averages less than 5 goals in 20 games does not deserve his pay nor his place in the team.
