Super Eagles 2023 AFCON Group A opponent Guinea-Bissau recorded an away win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In Monday’s Group A fixture, Guinea-Bissau pipped Djibouti 1-0 in Cairo, Egypt, to record their first win in the qualifying campaign.
Mauro Rodriguez was the hero for Guinea-Bissau as his 39th minute strike was enough to earn his side the win.
In their first game in the qualifiers, Guinea-Bissau held Burkina Faso to a 1-1 draw.

They go second in Group A on four points behind leaders Egypt who have six points.
Other teams in the group are Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
Next year’s AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire will see Guinea-Bissau face the Super Eagles in their final Group A game.
