The Super Bowl was the biggest sports event in 2025, and it’s only February. Yet, knowing the spectacle this NFL game brings, it is easy to say that not even the Champions League final in soccer is going to top it. Knowing this, you already know that fans weren’t only eager to watch the SB LIX. Many of us decided to make a few bets here and there, covering this one-of-a-kind event. At the same time, others haven’t been all that modest.
The Super Bowl is known for attracting high rollers. So, you will not be surprised to hear that millions were wagered on this game. Many bets were a success, while many failed. Such is this sport, or we should say that such is the world of gambling. You win some, you lose some. Considering that SB LIX is only one game, with two teams, and a few standout players competing, you can be assured that there were many repeated bets. So, we’re going to focus more on the amounts wagered, rather than on selected bets.
If the betting stats from Super Bowl LIX, played between Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, interest you, you’ve come to the right place. Join us as we go through this Super Bowl 2025 Betting Recap. Before we start, let us warn you to sit down while reading, as some of the figures wagered are out of this world.
No $1 Million Bet This Time Around
Interestingly enough, there was no $1 million bet for this Super Bowl. In years past, there were a few players here and there prepared to wager even more than this sum on this one match. It is often the case that some celebrity such as Drake puts some hefty sum on the event of this size, but that was not the case in 2025.
Instead, players came close to $1 million, but remained shy of the sum. While betting $1 million on the winner of the Super Bowl could be considered a brave move, players took a different direction this time. There were more than a few five-figure prop bets. Some were more interesting than others. For example, one player took a bet on Jalen Hurts to score 2+ touchdowns. Another decided to put doubts on Harrison Butker by betting on the kicker to score less than 1.5 field goals despite the fact that the game was played inside of a dome.
Now that the game is over, we can say that it wasn’t much fun for KC Chiefs and their fans. It would appear that bettors didn’t love it as much as last year’s duel between Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers because when we compare last year’s $1 million bets there were five of them to none this year. The reasons might be rather simple, as last year’s game was held in the gambling Mecca, Las Vegas.
This year’s finale was held in New Orleans, and while the city has more than enough charm, none of it is associated to gambling. Thus, the biggest bet prior to the match was $800,000. While not $1 million per se, it’s not far from it, and not much should be taken from it. The best part of this bet is that the money was put on the Eagles, so the player cashed out a pretty sum, but more on that later.
As mentioned earlier, the largest bet during last year’s Super Bowl was made by the infamous Canadian rapper Drake. If you know a thing or two about Drizzy, we’re sure that we don’t even have to tell you that he didn’t want to have anything to do with this year’s SB. For one, Champagne Papi was in Australia as a part of his Anita Max Wynn Tour, while the man who did excellent at Super Bowl’s half-time show is his arch nemesis Kendrick Lamar who took more than a few subtle digs at Drake during his performance.
Here, we’re going to leave the rap feud behind us, and focus on the biggest wins that happened in the aftermath or during the Super Bowl LIX.

Biggest Super Bowl Payouts
The high rollers betting on this year’s Super Bowl had a clear idea of who was the favourite to win it all. The largest sums of money were wagered on the Philadelphia Eagles. The biggest winner of this year’s Super Bowl in addition to the Eagles and Kendrick was a player who wagered $800K on the Eagles moneyline. This was one of the biggest Super Bowl wins as the player cashed out $880K in prize money. In addition we have two more Eagles fans who put forth $750K and $500K respectively that brought them wins in an estimated $825K and $500K respectively.
By now you understand; no bettor who tried anything regarding Kansas City Chiefs won. Because of this, the rest of the biggest wins for this year’s Super Bowl were tied to the Eagles. Few more players covered the Philly franchise by betting $500K and $400K on Eagles with added handicap of +1.5 and +4 for either player which led to smaller payouts compared to few first major bets as they came out with $434.7K and $202K. Not bad for one day of betting, but compared to some other payouts, it is less.
Prop Bets Magic
While some of the best we’re going to list below weren’t massive in terms of payouts, they were quite ingenious in terms of predicting unexpected outcomes. The best example of this is the player who wagered $50K on Butker to have less than 1.5 field goals made. The game was played inside of a dome, and if given a chance Harrison would make any field goal possible. The end result was that he didn’t even make an attempt. For the bigger part of the game the Chiefs were dominated by the Eagles, so they haven’t been scoring at all later in garbage time they were focused on touchdowns and 2-point conversions. Without Butker on the field, the lucky bettor took home prize money worth$75K.
Another, even luckier player, bet $62.5K on Over 23.5 2nd-half points. Late in the game it appeared that his $50K prize is going to be out of the reach considering how well has the eagles D played. Yet, for them the game was over as early as at the start of the 4th quarter. With backup defenders on the field, Mahomes finally managed to march down the field, and with two late touchdowns managed to score enough for this bet to go through.
A prop bet that caught our attention was a bettor’s move to bet on the no octopus scored. With $51K tied to this bet, he wasn’t another person celebrating Mahomes for his last-minute antics. With the last two drives of the game being touchdowns followed by 2-point conversions the risk was there that the same player would score both the TD and the 2-point conversion.
While all of the bets we talked about above have been Super Bowl gambling payouts, there’s more to it. You certainly didn’t believe that there weren’t KC fans betting on their team. Let’s take a look at all the misses that have happened during the Super Bowl betting frenzy last week.
Biggest Super Bowl Betting Misses
None of us likes to talk about this subject. After all, missing a bet is not only about losing money – it’s not being right with your bet, and that can hurt more sometimes. The biggest loss for this year’s Super Bowl was $345K by a player who covered the Kansas City Chiefs -1, a bet that was paid by -115 odds. That’s right, Chiefs were the betting favorites for this game, even as a slight one.
Another Chiefs fan had an even better idea and had the Chiefs moneyline on $320K, and that bet failed miserably too. But, the biggest loser both money wise and results wise was a bettor who had the game to wrap up with under 48.5 points scored. It was a $300K bet that would bring the player’s way hefty $285.7K. This was a winning bet up until the last few minutes of the game. With three minutes to go, and with the game already over result-wise, Eagles took their starters off, and Mahomes & Co had enough firepower and will in them to score two late touchdowns with three minutes to go when cumulative score was under 48.5 points, only to end up being a 62-point game. This person who had this wager probably now hates both teams. To wrap up the top losers in terms of straight bets, another bettor laid down an $300K bet on Chiefs moneyline.
Those who chased anything related to Chiefs performing well haven’t had the best of times even when it comes to prop bets. We had two players betting $25K and $20K on Kelce and Mahomes being the SB MVPs. Massive fail by all standards. No massive bets were made on Hurts winning it. Unfortunately, one bettor placed $75K on Hurts, having two touchdowns. Jalen opened the game with a rushing TD and played an amazing game. But, since the opening running game all of the rest of the Eagles’ TDs were passing ones, or weren’t scored by Hurts so those $75K went nowhere.
The biggest loser of props betting for the night was one player who had an interesting prop bet. A certain someone wagered $175K for the last play of the game being a touchdown. If you’ve watched the game, you know how close he was to winning this wager. The last two drives of the game both resulted in touchdowns by the Chiefs but in both cases the drive ended by a 2-point conversion. With Eagles having the game in their hands, nothing to play for, they took out their backups on the field, and if you’ve watched the late-game heroics by Mahomes, there wasn’t too much effort on the Eagles’ D to do anything so the 2-point conversion weren’t exactly defended on the level one would have expected from the NFLs best defence.
Betting Trends For Super Bowl LIX
Interestingly enough, when it comes to Super Bowl LIX, many of the best coming in the days leading to the game or on the match day, were prop bets. It’s hard to comprehend that people were flocking in betting on the coin toss with wagers for this event going up to $20K. You understand that this was the most wagered prop for the game, right? We’re really living in some crazy betting times. Some betting outlets even allowed for players to combine coin toss with other betting markets and make parlays as the demand for it was too much.
Yet, by the kick-off, moneyline bets started to take over. For us, these best are a true form of betting. As you saw in the text above, Eagles were favoured by the bettors, at least the high rollers, contrary to what sportsbooks had before the game. The highest bet was made on the Eagles in the region of $800K. The trend that was present last year, that saw more than one $1 million bet stopped this year, and while there were some big wagers, neither exceeded the $1 million threshold.
The public opinion can’t decide a game, but prior to the match it was evident that fans were favouring the Philly team to win. Last year, at the same time, people were sure that KC was taking home the win against the 49ers, and two years before that all bets went in favour of the Chiefs against the Eagles that time too. The next year’s game is scheduled to be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. We know that the Golden State has peculiar views on gambling, but we expect that the trend of high bets on Super Bowl returns. If the home team, the 49ers, manage to return to the big game, we can see the betting market exploding.
