Henrik Stenson is looking forward to making his debut in the Hong Kong Open when the 2020 European Tour campaign kicks off next month. There is still much to play for in this year’s Race to Dubai, with six events remaining before the cream of the crop descend on the United Arab Emirates for the DP World Tour Championship in late November.

However, the veteran Swede has confirmed that he will travel to the Far East to play at the Hong Kong Golf Club for the first time. The tournament is scheduled to take place despite the ongoing violent protests in the former British colony which has seen the cancellation of a number of events already.
It remains to be seen if the golf is affected but Stenson is planning to be there and is relishing the chance to sample the course for the first time. “It is hard to believe that I have not played this tournament before because I’ve always heard great things about the golf course, the city and the fans, so it’s nice to kick off my 2020 Race to Dubai season with something a little bit different,” he said.
