Tottenham are targeting Nice right-back Youcef Atal as they look to add fresh legs and competition at full-back this summer. The Telegraph claimed Spurs are keen on the 22-year-old Algerian earlier this week but reported that Nice’s valuation of the 22-year-old was £30million.
Atal was deployed as a right-winger in Nice’s win over Guingamp last weekend and responded with a hat-trick, taking his tally to six goals in 21 Ligue 1 starts this season. Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also said to be tracking the ex-Kortijk player, who joined Nice for a fee of just 3m euros last summer.
But Nice coach Patrick Vieira insists his star wide player is not for sale. “We are not sellers. Youcef will be here next year,” Vieira told the club’s website. “Youcef is improving. He works a lot. If you look at his goals, you see the aggression he has to be in the right place to score. “He is a positive character with good spirit. He was rewarded for his efforts. The team allowed him to express himself and to show his talent.”
