Sports Minister John Enoh has said the new Super Eagles head coach will be unveiled in the next two weeks.
The position has remain vacant since the expiration of Jose Peseiro’s contract at the end of February.
The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly shortlisted three coaches for the top job.
“What I can assure is the senior national team will have a new coach in the next one week or at most two weeks,” the minister told Channel Sports.

Enoh also said the NFF has taken their time to do a thorough job make sure the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup after a poor start.
The Super Eagles it would be recalled drew their first two World Cup qualifiers with Lesotho and Zimbabwe last December.
“The campaign for the next World Cup has started and we didn’t start well, it was a shaky one and therefore there’s a lot of mileage to cover,” Enoh added.
“We didn’t qualify for the last World Cup and can’t afford not to be at the next edition.
“The NFF know what Nigeria lost not being at the last World Cup and are doing everything not to repeat same mistake that will lead to the same disappointment.”

You people are still speaking grammar over the appointment of a coach for the Super Eagles, while other countries are perfecting strategies. Go and ask Cote d’ivore how they did their own within a twinkle of an eye, without any noise and at the middle of the Nation’s Cup. Very unserious and corrupt people.
Two weeks is a lot what have they been up to for the past few months? NFF should be watched closely because I’m very sure they’re up to something. The one who’s sharing salary might be the chief mastermind behind this delays because I don’t see any quality coach ready to share salary.
Hahahaha. In 2 weeks. That’s 2 or 3 weeks to the June 7 match. Chai! Who do us this thing?? Since January or February o. Just one job!!! Appoint a coach. It has become rocket science.
Except they’re appointing a coach already familiar with the players and team structure or pick such as an assistant.
Okay Guys tell me, What is the difference between appointing a coach Today 2 weeks from now or Today?..What will change will we have a game to prepare for the SA and Benin from now until the qualifiers?.. If they are down to 2 contenders sureley what ever these candidates need to do in order to prepare them until they get a view of the players in person i.e. video’s of games plyers in mind etc. they can do now and have an idea of the personel already I mean most of our players are playing in leagues that are covered worldwide. so whats the big deal?
The NFF needs to do the right thing and 2 weeks is not bad. however I feel this Guardiola ex coach is not the answer screams another Peseiro all over him. If you ask me between the two if it is him or Amuneke I will stick my head out for Amuneke. if we will not get a coach in the ilk of Herve Reynard we may aswell just do what NFF is good at doing lately and settle for what we can get
NFF una well done ooo. CHAI!
The man has worked with Pep from Barca thru Bayern and City.. surely he’s not a fool, But what do I know?
Na una NFF Sabi where dem bring Peseiro from, e no mean say every white coach na Peseiro

They are buying time to save some money in account.. if a new coach was appointed in February, March,April that would have been 3 months salary.. u can imagine 70k dollar x 3 .. already. Convert to naira .. hahaha .
My boys are monitoring conversation of all the guys in nff house .. but we no the coach already .. Abuja is not buying the idea . Dey looking for ppp .super eagles plc could be on stock exchange market in the coming days .
Everybody wil buy shares .
The new coach has been told to make the team competitive. Remove players that are not starters in their clubs .he wil be announced before tomorrow morning.
1 week or 2 weeks. The nff should get it right and hire the most qualified coach for the team. If the names of tge shortlisted candidates being thrown around are correct, then the former coach of Cameroon Concenciao is the best option.
Surprised to see the name of a serial failure being pushed around by people with ulterior motives. A former player that is known for his divisive and technical bereft decision who has failed in all senior team engagements including getting demoted to youth teams. Amunike should first develop himself with Heartland FC, win the league like Finidi before being considered for any national team job. The same clueless coach that could not qualify for the U-20’s despite the arrays of stars in his team.
Concenciao is the most qualified of the shortlisted three coaches.
Amuneke! Former Africa footballer of year, Former nation Cup and Olympic Gold medal winner, played and scored world Cup goals for Nigeria, played in Nigeria local league and knows our league, won multiple trophy in Africa and European league as a vital player, Former Barcelona winger, sporting Lisbon player, Has seen it all as a player and manager, has tasted success and failures and learned from them to become solid and better manager, brand and styles of football is like Barcelona and exciting,! Nigeria under 17 world Cup winning coach against world class coaches from other countries, Former Tanzania manager and qualified them for afcon after over 40 years of failure, No present Nigeria players is bigger than amuneke to become a problem, they will sit and listen and learn from the best ever Nigeria has to offer presently, A lovely living legend, Give him just 2 years contract let us observe him,, westerhof needed 5 years to win afcon, rohr dubiously was given 5 years of failure, peseiro got 2 years of disappointment result and style of play, Keshi was a success, siasia was successful and now amuneke will follow that trend,, the answer to Nigeria winning again and to our domestic and international football success is in amuneke hands and head of oil and grace that brings back victory and trophies! NFF PRESIDENT JUST GIVE HIM 2 YEARS UNA HEAR? God and thunder go fire those nff members and officials and technical incompetent committee that were negotiating and soliciting for a foreign failure coaches after taking bribe and lining up oyibo salary kick back, amuneke, Michael nsien and finidi as coaches! Nigerians are very satisfied and happy with that trio!!!! God bless Nigeria and Nigerians oh! Our own na our own oh!!!
