The minister of sports development, Senator John Owan-Enoh, has expressed sadness over the death of a member of the House of Representatives, representing Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency of Kaduna State, and chairman of the of the House Committee on Sports, Ekene Adams, who died yesterday’s morning.
The former Labour Party (LP) lawmaker died at the age of 39 following a prolonged illness.
However, in a statement signed by his SA media, Diana-Mary Nsan, the minister stated that Hon. Adams was deeply passionate about sports.

“Honourable Ekene was deeply passionate about sports and played a significant role in the growth and development of sports in Nigeria. I offer my heartfelt condolences to Honourable Ekene’s family.”
Hon. Adams, a former general manager of Kada City FC and Remo Stars, was elected into the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) in 2023.
With his sports background as a former athlete and administrator, he was appointed the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, the position he occupied until his death on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024.
