The Spanish Players’ Union have accused Huesca of committing procedural breaches in the handling of their case against Nigeria midfielder Kelechi Nwakali, reports Completesports.com.
Nwakali returned late from the 2021 Africa Cup in Cameroon and Huesca have opened up disciplinary proceedings against him.
The club have also stopped the midfielder from coming to the training ground.

Nwakali claimed he missed Nigeria’s second round clash against Tunisia at the AFCON due to illness and also stated that the doctor who treated him advised him not to fly and to keep testing until his symptoms cleared.
The players’ union claimed the player notified Huesca about the development.
According to Football Espana, the former Arsenal player was offered a renewal at the beginning of this season but decided against accepting due to his poor relationship with the powers-that-be at the club. Huesca, however, were keen for him to renew and now want to sack him to avoid paying him for the rest of the season.
The player is a subject of interest from clubs in Spain, Premier League and Sky Bet Championship.

This guy is unserious with his career. There are 2 sides to every story sha.
This pure setup, I pray the club stays at laliga 2. I just remembered that someone said maybe monkey said they were planning a petition to bring back rhor was going on? Rhor never arrived na
Bro Nwakali is not taking football serious….He has been sanctioned by all the clubs he’s played (including his time on loan at alcorcon last season) I remember he missed training twice while at alcorcon. How can someone so talented be so unprofessional. Nwakali would soon be 24 and has achieved nothing in football If Nwakali doesn’t change his attitude and professionalism soon he will be stuck in lower division clubs.
@Jones: “He has been sanctioned by all clubs he’s played”.
Can you provide details of sanctions at the following clubs that he has played at so far?
Arsenal
MVV Maastricht
VVV Venlo
Porto B
Huesca
Alcorcon
It’s easy to claim he has been sanctioned by ALL clubs, I suspect it will be difficult to prove
If the spannish players union are already in legal support for him… Why are people still passing derogatory comments about him? He was sick… He club was duely notified. He refused contract extension… It’s clear he has not been insldisciplined on this occasion… People should learn to read and not just make comments. What was said in the editorial? Read and digest it before making unwarranted pronouncements on Nwakali…
@Jimbo, read and digest but most importantly try to have a better understanding of what you read. Spanish player’s union is a union representing players’ interest only and Nwakali ran to them being a paying member of the union with his own side of the story and surely the union needs to act by challenging the club’s position.
So it doesn’t entirely mean that the club is wrong or right but both sides will present their arguments and evidence in support of their actions for a neutral body to decide.
However, we can see that Nwakali’s excuse doesn’t hold much water, having a sick note from 9ja is not such a valid ground as anyone can get any sick note from any doctor in 9ja, and the major problem is the way this sick note will be composed with inadequate and inappropriate clinical information to validate the sick note as genuine.
“Nwakali claimed he missed Nigeria’s second round clash against Tunisia at the AFCON due to illness and also stated that the doctor who treated him advised him not to fly and to keep testing until his symptoms cleared”…….Didn’t he fly from Cameroon to Lagos after R-16 ouster? Falling out with the powers that be at the club is simply down to his poor performance, 33 matches with no assist or no goal for an attacking midfielder is indeed very poor
I wish him good luck however, but the guy needs to take his career more serious if he is interested in a successful career. Discipline is key to success in a white-man’s country.
Hehehehehe…Dr banks. Are you minding people who only have the ability to read and digest when and only when they want to make excuses for their lackeys…?
Huesca stopped short at saying Nwakali came back with a pack of lies in defense of his lateness in reporting back to the club.
We all know and especially during this covid times, that players suffering from illnesses dont get named on the substitute bench. The likes of Awaziem and Collins were excused from the SE lineups till when they were fully recovered of whatever illnesses they suffered in Cameroon. Players were getting tested every damn single day there in Cameroon. So Nwakali first shot himself in the foot with his “I missed the match against Tunisia due to illness” story. Because he was conspicuously present on the SE bench, dressed for the match.
He apparently forgot (or does not know) that FIFA’s media protocols for teams on international duty states that club medics are to be notified by national team medics/management if a player suffers any form of medical casualty on international duty so as to be able to work out the appropriate compensation to be paid both the club and player by FIFA. Obviously, Huesca received no communication about any illness of their player from the Nigerian camp.
In addition, reports have it that after reading the sick note he presented which was apparently full of medical incoherencies, they took him to the hospital for closer monitoring and evaluation for a couple of days and found no traces of the said illness he claimed to have battled with that made him report 10 days late. The same illness that allowed him to fly from Garoua to Douala and then to Lagos suddenly refused to allow him to fly an additional few hours to Spain….LMAOoo
And from all reports, the union are only after the pursuant of “procedural due process” which by the way is still subject to affirmation by an arbitration commission and not necessarily after the application (or non thereof) of sanctions for Nwakali’s unethical behavior.
The boy apparently thought he could use naija sense to maradonna his way past his European employers…..LMAOoooo.
Our people say Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Even the biggest footballers in the world first return to their clubs to get themselves treated if they suffer any medical casualties on international duty and not their home countries. We say Aubameyang return IMMEDIATELY to Arsenal after he was diagnosed of cardiac lesions at AFCON. We also saw Mario Lemina return to OGC Nice IMMEDIATELY TOO for medical reasons. It doesnt make common sense to avoid the already sponsored medical care your clubs offers or your own medical insurance in the country where you play to go spend your own money elsewhere.
Its him and his managers I blame for his current predicament. Even if you want out of a club, your contract still duty-binds you to fulfil your responsibilities to that club in accordance to the terms of your said contract.
By the way, he isnt a first time offender. His journey from Porto B terminating his loan midway, to having his contract at Arsenal cancelled to Huesca getting him for free is not devoid of a similar act of indiscipline. Not forgetting his brother’s much publicized sack from FF Kalmar for the same offence.
All these ruse of contractual tussle what what is just what it is, mere ruse to divert attention from the main issue.
The boy will learn…if only sycophants will allow him learn.
So tell us what is wrong in what Jimmy stated. Sometimes over sabi dey worry many of you. Am not surprised the parrot is here trying to make case for you. When did it become a crime to get sick note from Nigeria. It is you that needs to be educated. Once you are sic and your employer is notified in a timely fashion, are they not obligated to grant you the time off. You coming here talking about how the sick note was worded. Please when did that become a criteria. Except if they have proof that he wasn’t sick then they have no case
Hehehehe…quite unsurprisingly, I knew long mouth obunu will come out and sheepishly lick the feet of his master with his usual meaningless retorts….LMAOOooo. Most times, your own senselessness is your Achilles heel.
Let me school you a little you illiterate…..LMAOoooo….it is not a crime to get a sick note from Nigeria. But it becomes a crime when you bring a sick not from Nigeria that says you were ill, only for you to be taken to the hospital for examination and no trace of your phantom illness (or medication you took to cure the illness) can be found in your system. It only reveals one thing…that you are a CHEAP LIAR….LMAOoooo. Dishonesty is opposites to professionalism.
It is even worse that there was no official report from your federation that you were sick while on international duty…..LMAOooo….moreso when you were fully dressed for the match you claimed to have missed due to illness….LMAOooo.
If you have not received any official communication or clearance from your club to take time off, under no circumstances should you give yourself time off. If you are sick and you notify your employer, wait for your employer’s response and approval before you give yourself timeoff….LMAOooo. Even your master knows that. Everywhere else is not like your Nigeria where everybody does whatever they like….LMAOOooo.
Aubameyang was recently sacked from Arsenal for returning to his club 1 day, just 1 day late, after going to visit his sick mother in Paris.
If you dont know professionalism and administration, keep quiet, read and listen while we will teach you…..LMAOOooo
Ive always advised you to keep your gutters shut if you cant think properly, but no, your hatred for “this parrot” will always make you jump like an antelope into discussions you dont know JACK about…..LMAOooooo.
Mr parrot so, if you extremely sick ands you called out and no one picked up your call or gave you clearance and you received a doctors note to say you not fit to fly, you clearly that grounds for terminations. With a good lawyer Nwakali can sue his employer and win. Don’t know the crap you saying. Maybe i would have given you a pass if he he didn’t have a doctors note to back his sickness
If a player like Osimen is having problem with Napoli and the club decided to stop him from coming to training you guys will say because he’s a black player they are treating him like that because Osinmen is in your good book, a player is having an issue with his club, you don’t have the full story, and all you could do is running your mouth back and front, there is already a contract dispute which is a big factor, bringing what happened in his past clubs to play here is irrelevant, this is a young black male making name for himself thousand miles away from home, you guys need to stop reasoning with your toes.
