Southampton target Thomas Goiginger says “it looks like I’ll be staying” with LASK Linz after the Austrian club addressed the rumour.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was last week linked with a swoop on his home country’s top-flight for the 26-year-old right-winger, who is under contract until 2022.
But, in an interview with Sky Sports Austria, Goiginger said he expected to remain with LASK after their swift response to the original report. “I can not say much about that because I’m not really into it,” said Goiginger, who remains uncaped by Austria. “In football, everything can always change very quickly, but as it looks now, I’ll stay at LASK.” LASK sporting director Jurgen Werner had confirmed in an interview with Sky reporter Constanze Weiss that there are interested parties for Goiginger.

But he said: “We have in the course of the winter requests for nine different players get and Goiginger was among them, but there is nothing to announce. “There is nothing concrete. We want to try to keep the players all at LASK because we have big tasks ahead of us.”
