Bafana Bafana of South Africa defeated Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in a friendly game played in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
A 25th minute strike by Lyle Foster was enough to secure the win for South Africa.
It was a return to winning ways for the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations winners.
At the weekend they were held to a surprise 0-0 draw at home by Namibia in another friendly game.
They have now gone three consecutive games without defeat (two wins, one draw).
Bafana Bafana are in Group C with Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which will begin in November.
Other teams drawn in the group are Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The last time the Super Eagles and South Africa faced each other was in the quarter-finals of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The Eagles triumphed 2-1 following a late William Troost-Ekong goal.

Good preparation, they will be playing against Cote d ivoire next month. Even Ghana will be playing against Mexico and USA next month. While My country will be playing against NFF.
No qualm NFF would organise friendly matches for SE against Togo and Somalia.
