Pape Souare is reportedly on his way back to France with just over a month left on his Crystal Palace contract. Senegal international Souare joined the Eagles back in January 2016 and he was regular fixture during his first season-and-a-half in London, making 43 Premier League appearances.

However, the 28-year-old left-back has fallen down the pecking order since suffering serious injuries in a car crash back in September 2016 and he has played just nine minutes of league football over the past two seasons. The Mbao-born star’s contract is set to expire on July 1 and there are no suggestions Palace boss Roy Hodgson is going to put fresh terms on the table.
An exit is expected this summer and Marseille have cropped up as potential new employers after he travelled to their training ground this week to potentially broker a free transfer. Souare has good experience of French football, having played for Lille and Reims before making the switch to England.
