Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has been named in England’s squad for this month’s Nations League matches against Greece and Finland.
It is Solanke’s first call-up since he earned his only cap, which was a substitute appearance against Brazil in 2017 when he was a player Liverpool.
“Dom’s a player I’m fully aware of having worked with him in the past,” said England coach Lee Carsley.
“He was really close to being in the last squad but got injured just before selection.
“He did so well at Bournemouth and now he’s taken that form into Spurs. He’s got a lot of really good attributes that I really like, as well as being a really nice person. He’s extremely talented and it’s good that we’ve got him.”
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, Tottenham midfielder James Maddison and Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze also miss out.
Kyle Walker, who was left out of Carsley’s first squad, has earned a recall while Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has been selected after missing September’s fixtures through injury.
Carsley made a strong start to his time as England interim manager with victories against Finland and the Republic of Ireland in September in the Nations League.
The Three Lions host Greece at Wembley on 10 October before playing Finland in Helsinki on 13 October.
England got to the final of the European Championship in Germany and lost 2-1 to Spain.

Is he that really outstanding? I guess no. We have better strikers TBH. But the visibility of the EPL will not allow us to rest.
This Yeye England National Team no dey take eye see good Nigerian players, fiam dey Don invite them. Very anyhow people. Like France like England stealing other countries talent just to deprive the other nations quality. God punish dem.

Naso dem steal Saka, Eze & Tomori. Those 3 could have improve the SE alot. The thing pain me sha. They are good in stealing other countries talent. Imagine Saka and Eze playing for Eagles with the qualities we have already. Any AFRICAN Team go collect wotowoto
Collect wotowoto for Saka and Eze nah..Sure Saka will improve super eagles, for Eze,he’s at same level as Iwobi,Fikayo Dele Bashiru is not far off..
They both will slightly improve the super eagles but not to a point of hammering every African opposition wotowoto i doubt it..
Is it only Saka and Eze, what about Musiala, Olise, Adeyemi, Zirkzee, Ali, Schade, Nwaneri and many many many more…Na we get the most talented in everything but we country no get head to inspire all this talent (in every sector and area of life and sport and arts and everything) Make we leave story please because the blame belongs squarely to Nigeria and it’s criminal leaders and administrators. Useless country.
Hahaha, OTILO!
This bloody Lee Carsley of a chap is even worse than Northgate! The guy no dey take em korokoro eye see Nigeria players. Na sniper em be. One look, one shot. And e no dey miss target!
Solanke needs to wise up. He will be competing with the legendary Kane, Watkins, Palmer, Tammy Abraham, Calvert Lewin, Rashford, Foden, Bowen, etc. And several other emerging English players who can play in the false nine role. What are his long term prospects? This is a poisoned chalice invitation. They will use him and dump him. With Nigeria, his prospects are much, much better!
Anyway, that’s his decision to make. As for us, we kuku have Gift Orban, Arokodinho, Olatunjinho, Akor Adams, Elijah Adebayo, Kolawole Dessers, German Onugkha. Together with Boniface, Osimhen, Awoniyi, Iheanacho Sadiq and Onuachu.
The next item on the agenda for Nigeria is MERIT BASED SELECTION.
With the tremendous form Lookman has been showing, these English folks are in severe pain.
As e dey pain dem, e dey sweet us. As e dey sweet us, e dey pain dem!
Chai, if the opportunity to switch Lookman arises now peren, dem go snatch both em body and soul commot.
Na kidnap dem go kidnap the guy. They can only look enviously at Lookman, they can’t touch him!
ENGLAND, NTOI!!!
Why the worry, he is just going to be used and dumbed. Nothing fantastic about his display. We don’t need him, he is free to go
We’re worried because he gets used and dumped like you said,we won’t have him play for the super eagles! He’s an amazing talent..We’re losing out on many talented players who would prefer their country of birth sadly.
The likes of Porto Omorodion would have being a great addition to an attack that is solely reliant on Victor Osimhen..Adeyemi of Dortmund,Arsenal’s Saka,Bayern Munich duo of Olise and Jamal Musiala,Manuel Akanji Switzerland and Manchester City,Alaba Austria and Madrid,Udogie of Tottenham the list goes on..
Sometimes I do imagine how amazing our team will look with these world class players..
Definitely, will be good enough to compete for the last 4 in World Cup..
I concur my brother. Leaders of our dear Country are the problems,if Nigeria gets good structure, those players would willingly play for Nigeria without much persuasion but reverse is the story.
Solanke had been called once before for a Three Lions friendly match
