Chris Smalling could return after seven weeks on the sidelines when Manchester United host Burnley in the Premier League this evening.
The defender has not featured since December 8 due to a foot issue, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering him after training over the past week.
Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini remain sidelined for Tonight’s match, while David De Gea will return in goal after being rested for the FA Cup win at Arsenal.
United will continue their push for the top four against the Clarets but Solskjaer says it is a short-term aim rather than a yardstick with which to measure success.
“That’s not the dream, though, to be top four,” Solskjaer said. “For Man United, you should always aim to win the league. We can’t do that this year, but we’ve just got to look forward to that again because we have to get back to that.
“We’ve got the Champions League, we’ve got the FA Cup. We can’t just say top four and that’s it. “We’ve got to look at ‘can we win something this year?’
And, as I’ve said, I go into every single game as a Man United manager thinking we can win this game.”
