Moses Simon hopes to score more goals for Nantes after netting the winner in Saturday night 1-0 win against OGC Nice, reports Completesports.com.
Simon tormented Nice all night at the Stade de la Beaujoire, and netted the backbreaking goal, which was long in coming, against the hard-fighting Patrick Vieira’s men.
Simon connected home a sublime header off Kader Bamba’s cross in the 84th minute before he was substituted by Samuel Moutoussamy in stoppage time to a thunderous applause from the home fan.
It was the Nigerian’s second Ligue 1 goal for FC Nantes in seven games since his summer arrival as a loanee from Laliga side, Levante. He has also registered one assist.
The goal ensured the Christian Gourcuff’s team took the second spot in the Ligue 1 table on 19 points after matchday-9, behind PSG who are on 21 points.
It was a difficult game for us. They (Nice) were very physical, but we maintained the same tempo all through the game,”Simon stated in a short video interview posted on Nante’s Twitter handle.
‘ ‘It’s a nice goal, I used my head, which is not common!” It’s great that we defeated them.We are all happy with the three points.
”I want to thank the fans for their support. They have really been massive for us this season.”
