Coach Samson Siasia has revealed his lawyers have written to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, CAS, asking it to extend the deadline for him to raise funds to file his appeal against the life ban placed on him by FIFA on all football-related activities,
reports Completesports.com.
In handing Siasia the hefty sanction, FIFA gave him until October 10 to file an appeal.
Similarly, Siasia would have to pay a sum of Swiss Francs 100,000 (N36.4m) legal fees if CAS will look into the case.
And with almost 24 hours before the expiration of the October 10 deadline, Siasia’s legal team have approached CAS for a reprieve.
“The situation is not good”, Siasia responded when asked about the situation of things as regards his appeal at CAS against his life ban by FIFA.
“There is no money anywhere. So, my lawyers have written (to CAS) for extension of the date. Hopefully, we’ll get good response from them”.
Completesports.com reports that Siasia had earlier appealed to billionaires, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and others for financial assistance to pay the required fees for his appeal against his ban to be heard.
