Spanish La Liga club Sevilla are in advanced talks to sign Montpellier’s Nigerian forward Akor Adams
This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Adams has scored three goals with three assists in 15 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
The last time the former Flying Eagles striker scored was September 2024 when he bagged a brace in Montpellier’s 3-2 win against Auxerre.
Since arriving Montpellier in 2023 from Norwegian club Lillestrom, he has scored 13 goals in 49 games in two seasons.
However, Sevilla are now in talks to acquire his services of the 24-year-old.
Romano understands that those talks are now at an advanced stage and only the final details must be applied before the move to Spain is completed.
It is expected that he will join on a permanent deal, the value of which is yet to be revealed.
In financial difficulty and facing relegation to Ligue 2, Montpellier had been looking to raise funds this month, with Adams representing one of their more bankable assets.
If the deal go through, Adams would become teammate with Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke.
Montpellier are currently bottom on 12 points in the 18-team French top flight.
