Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was on target as Napoli defeated Empoli 2-0 in Saturday’s Serie A.
The Nigerian international who was making his 20 appearance, has netted 19 goals and bagged 4 assists this ongoing season.
Spalletti’s charges took the lead on 17 minutes when Ardian Ismajli sliced Piotr Zielinski’s cross into his own net.
The advantage was doubled on 28 minutes by Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has been catching the eye after breaking Serie A speed records this term.
The Nigerian striker has now scored in each of his last eight Serie A games, becoming the first player to score in eight Italian top-flight appearances in a row since Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese netted 11 in 2019-20.
The win enabled Napoli to extend their lead in Serie A to 18 points over Inter Milan who face Bologna on Sunday.

1 more goal to finally reach at least 20 goals for the first time in his career. He has dramatically improved. What especially helped was him not getting injured frequently. He is 2nd in europe for most goals behind haaland. Seria a is a defensive league. This guy is quick and leading the line to attack. And also athletic abilities with great headers
I hope Osimhen stay away from the premier league. If he moves I hope its real madrid, he will be winning trophies for years. I would love to get a real madrid jersey of a Nigerian players. Ill tell you right now, people will be buying it, breaking records for an African player on a real madrid team. Dont go to the premier league just because its the league where Nigerians only watch or to play in front of the Nigerian community. They think chelsea, arsenal or man utd is gonna make their career because thas the jersey they wear around the village. I just wish people admit they dont watch other leagues. But the english league is ruthless to non english people. They protect their own, they dont critise their own but critisize non english people. Came after Ronaldo but didnt come after Rashford. English league promote their own especially through the academy, when it fails they go buy a player in a hurry to buy fans love. Oshoala doing will with barcelona
But the owner is letting people know he and Kravra are staying. “I am very good at making contracts. So when they come to me, they are blocked, so keeping them here won’t be difficult. However, never say never. Sometimes there are offers you can’t refuse, so you never know. To me, we’ll see them shine for a long time.”
You are on a team that is competing for champions and leading serie a, he is not leaving
Thumbs down brotherman. Don’t join evil fans with evil intentions in bringing down the English Premier League. Osimhen will do well in Manchester United with Rashford.
Heaven bless Osimhen and all deserving Super Eagles players.
I can see your point my dear brother but as it stands now only Real Madrid, PSG and 3 or 4 EPL clubs that will be able to afford Osimhen’s price tag……I would not want him to go to PSG as he has already explored the Ligue1 with Lille…… That leaves only Madrid and this 3 or 4 EPL clubs as Osimhen’s likely destination……I personally would prefer Madrid for Osimhen because he would win honours with them and make a name for himself and SE there……But if Madrid does not come for him then he should definitely move to the EPL……I would not want Osimhen to linger in Napoli like Koulibali, mentens, insigne, and Ruiz who could not stay relevant after finally leaving Napoli belatedly….. Osimhen should leave now that it’s still hot so that he can continue his growth and development…..I have so much confidence in Victor Osimhen…..If he moves,he would succeed in any team he plays for because he has a winning mentality.
Osimhen scores AGAIN. What a season he’s having!
I was also impressed with Ebuehi. Considering he had one of the most difficult jobs in football nowadays, which is marking Kvara, I thought he did a decent job of keeping him quiet for large portions of the game. From time to time, Kvara would of course threaten, but Ebuehi managed to keep him from wrecking total havoc. Well played.
