Super Eagles striker, David Okereke was red carded as Venezia defeated Torino 2-1 in Saturday’s Serie A game.
The Nigerian international was making his 19 appearance for Venezia and has scored five goals this ongoing season.
However, he failed to add to his goal tally as he was marked out by Torino defenders for the entire part of the game. But he was shown a direct red card in the 94th minute for a foul play.
The host took the lead in the 5th minute through Josip Brekalo before Ridgeciano Haps leveled score in the 38th minute.
Venezia extended their lead in the 46th minute thanks to a lovely finish from Domen Crnigoj. But the host thought they had equalized after Andrea Belotti netted in the 90th minute, only for his goal to be disallowed by the VAR.
The win move Venezia to 17th on the log on 21 points whole Torino sit 10th on 32 points.

Every weekend the world watches Nigerians – Osihen, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Ebuehi,Simon, Okereke, Awoniyi playing at the highest level of football. Yet sone people, including Eguavoen want to include home-based, mediocre footballers in the Super Eagles. Anybody playing football in the Nigerian League cannot be good enough to play international football.
