David Okereke scored but it counted for nothing as Venezia lost 3-1 away to Sassuolo, in the Serie A on Saturday, Completesports.com reports.
It was Okereke’s second goal in eight league games for the newly promoted club.
Also in action for Venezia was Super Eagles right-back Tyronne Ebuehi who was replaced on 68 minutes. It was his sixth league appearance.

Okereke broke the deadlock for Venezia when he netted in the 32nd minute of the game before Sassuolo fought back to score three goals.
Venezia have now won just one of their last five games (losing two and drawing two).
They are in 16th position on eight points in the league table.
