Italian topflight organiser, Serie A, has praised Maduka Okoye for his impressive performance in goal for Udinese in their 2-1 win at Lazio on Monday night.
Udinese returned to winnings ways after drawing two and losing one of their last three games prior to the game at Lazio.
But they eventually ended the winless run thanks to Okoye’s brilliant display.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper made six saves, one standing save and made one punch.

Also, he had 20 passes and had two successful long balls.
Reacting to the performance, Serie A wrote on their X handle:“Another great performance by Maduka Okoye .”
The 24-year-old shot stopper has now made 11 appearances in the league.
He was not included in the Super Eagles 27-man squad for this month’s international friendly games with Ghana and Mali in Marrakech, Morocco.

I feel after this season SE will have 2 competent keepers, Nwabali and Okoye… that Mouth Uzoho was yabbing last year will come back to hunt him. his lack of humility with criticism was so annoying acting like Super Eagles is his birth right. if his apology had no refrence to the betterment of the team it was all based around him. talking about how we fans wanted to see him succeed and so forth forgetting that we only care about the team not the individual yes the individual to a certain extent but the team comes first.
If okoye can just keep his head and continue churning-out this impressive stat. I strongly believe he will give Nwabali a run for his money and not even Uzoho will come close.
Maduka Okoye has no business in the Super Eagles…LMAoo….he’s only getting invites because he is light skinned….LMAOoo.
At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if this kid is amongst the nominees for the GK of the season award.
My brother I don’t understand. You tip him for goalkeeper of the season award but he doesn’t merit invitation to the Super Eagles.
You lots don’t understand sarcasm ooo.
Hahahaha Akosa, don’t be surprised. He was GK of the season in the Eredivisie yet was tagged as not being SE material and only getting invitations to the national team solely due to his skin colour…….LMAOooo.
@Dr.Drey… it’s clear he has improved… this is what we demand from all players including the likes of Aribo, Chukwueze and previously Troost-Ekong. If you call yourself a professional football and if the game is your day job, you must improve your game otherwise fans won’t spare you anywhere because the ordinary street hawker knows football now in and out. It is not hidden that before now Maduka Okoye was a fidgety and panicky goalkeeper whenever in post for our games, he was at Watford and did not wear gloves for almost a whole two seasons. Players must learn to dig deep and re-invent themselves the modern game else they will be called out. Kudos to Okoye’s new verve as a goalkeeper.
Samuel Chukwueze is being called out left right and centre in Italy including the press, his own club board is not even happy with his performance, that’s what happens when a player becomes too complacent, it has been reported than in 22 league games in the ‘Seria A’ this season, Chukwueze only has one assist… he has been found out as one trick pony… same assessment some of us have given over the years that he has to improve… now at w club where he is supposed to take his career to new heights he is now performing like his game does not measure-up to the standards of AC Milan… He has just himself to blame for that.
Hahahahaha….as a footballer, you must improve yourself, that is why you should spin up lies just to tarnish the name and hard work of people right….?
Now they are shoving your criticisms down your throat day after day, you some here with the face-saving tactics of claiming to be looking out for their progress by assassinating their characters…..LMAOoo. Weldone ehn…Keep it up. I hope more of them will continue to serve more sweet and humble pies as that weeks go by…..LMAOoo
And by the way, when will your Kelechi Nwakalis (perennial 1 goal 1 assist per season AM & relegation battler), Emmanuel Dennises, Olayinkas and all your other “better thans” who hold the magic wand to the success of the SE begin to improve their own games to the level of global acclaim….???
Cos its seeming the ones you stab into pieces are the ones showing class now, while the ones in whom you were well pleased are fading into the twilight…..LMAOOoo
You obviously a narcissist. Do you have to come here and make a fool of yourself. Rubbish
Why make fun of others suggestions, what’s really funny there. You make this forum boring to read with your sarcastic comments. You really make yourself foolish sometimes. I wonder those who are always coming here to support shitty behavior
And Uzohobasket is still in the team with zero action for in his club matches sunce the conclusion of AFCON.
Great to see Okoye churning out top performances but according to someone’s theory “you are as good as your last match”. Nwabali has done enough to be the number 1 choice for the national team. His record breaking performance at AFCON is no fluke.
Okoye can create the much needed competition for the team.
Uzohobasket is out.
But then Okoye can still catch up with Nwabali. No condition is permanent especially if Okoye keeps working harder and improving with every game. With due respect, can we compare South Africa league to Italian Serie A?
@Asoka Ike I agree with you 100% on that and that is the problem with Nigerians One 1 good tournament and you are made for life in thier minds even if you have 3 bad ones. Nwabali is case is 100 times better sef, Nwabali in my eye showed Consistency the whole tournament unlike a certain Ahmed Musa 1 good Game in 2014 and 1 good game in 2018 WC and he is the best and longest serving captain for that lol, Meanwhile Enyeama had 101 top notch games for Nigeria and was forced out of Nigeria by Politics created by Nigerian Government and executed by an Indigenous coach who heeded to the corruption a certain Sunday Oliseh
And Let me tell you people most of the class of 94 do not want any other Generation to out do them let us bear that in mind when clamouring for Ex Internationals
Great to see that this boy is finally getting back to form.
His errors in the past have sent countless SE fans to the hospital. Some are still there as we speak. The Algeria howler were he was awkwardly attempting to dribble his ancestors just outside his goal post comes to mind, with that unfortunate transaction resulting in getting dispossessed by his opponent, and a cheap goal conceded.
Unfortunately in football as in any sphere of life, errors are remembered easier and for longer than good work. So Okoye has to earn his trust back, and he is well on his way to doing that. Kudos to him. KEEP IT UP!
If we hear that Uzoho too is doing well again, he too will have our undiluted support. We want ALL our players to be doing well. The more quality we have, the better for us.
