D’Tigers Group F opponents in next month’s FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers, Senegal have announced a 16-man preliminary squad, reports Completesports.com.
Senegal who have recorded seven wins and two defeats so far in the qualifiers will be hoping to record more wins to return to the World Cup for the second time in a row.
Abou Ndiaye’s side will go up against Mali, Nigeria, and Rwanda from February 22 to 24 in the Ivoirian city of Abidjan.
The players are Jules Richard Aw, Xane D’Almeida, Moise Diame, Pape Sadiaw Diatta, Pape Moustapha Diop, Youssoupha Fall, and Mouhammad Faye.
Others include Cheikh Mbodj, Maurice Ndour, Maleye Ndoye, Thierno Niang, Youssoupha Ndoye, Mamadou Lamine Sambe, Djibril Thiam, Ibrahima Thomas, and Babacar Toure.
Senegal are second in the group with 16 points from nine games.
The two best highest-placed teams in each group and the best third-placed team (a total of five (5) teams) shall qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.
