Mohamed Fares is set to depart SPAL for either Inter or Atalanta in this transfer window, according to boss Leonardo Semplici.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan with SPAL last term as he scored three goals in 36 appearances to help the side maintain their Serie A status, while he helped Algeria win the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt last month.

SPAL opted to sign him on a permanent basis from Hellas Verona earlier in the summer, but Semplici has revealed he is now poised to depart to pastures new. Speaking about Manuel Lazzari’s move to Lazio, Semplici told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I expect to see Lazzari in the national team. Our other wingback Fares could go to Inter or Atalanta.”
On the incoming front, Semplici is confident of bringing central defender Kevin Bonifazi back from Torino this summer. He added: “He’s someone who, in two or three years, will be fighting for the Scudetto.”
