Brighton forward Viktor Gyokeres has agreed to join 2. Bundesliga outfit St Pauli on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old is yet to make much of an impression on the first team at the Amex and will get the chance to further his development in Germany.
Gyokeres has made four appearances for the Seagulls although he is yet to turn out in the Premier League and Graham Potter doesn’t feel he is ready to compete in 2019-20.
He was a regular for Brighton’s Under-23 side last season, making 19 appearances, and Potter will hope he can mature during his time with the Kiezkicker.
Under-23 coach Simon Rusk said: “This represents a brilliant opportunity for Viktor to continue his recent impressive development, which has seen him progress to the fringes of the first-team squad. “He had a fine season with us in the Under-23s but the challenge for him now is to gain some regular game time at senior level.

“It will be good to see him play alongside Leo [Ostigard] and I’m sure that he will take plenty from his experience out in Germany.”
