Jake Scrimshaw is targeting a first-team place at Bournemouth after realising his “dream” by signing a first professional contract. The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2018-18 campaign for the Cherries Under-18 side and was named player of the year for that age group.

The talented striker bagged 48 goals in an incredible season while he also spent time on loan at Southern League South outfit Poole Town, scoring 17 of those goals for The Dolphins. Scrimshaw, who has been at the Vitality Stadium since the age of 15, will now progress into the club’s Under-21s and the man from the Isle of Wight is clearly thinking big.
“I was over the moon to be offered my first professional contract,” he told Bournemouth’s official website. “It was what I had been working for my whole life. It was a dream come true to sign it. “I’m delighted with the contract but I want to push on again and get another one. My main aim is to play for the first team. It was a very good season, both for me and the team. On a personal note I was happy with how it went and it was probably my best season since I joined the club.”
