FSV Mainz director of football, Rouven Schroder has stated that Taiwo Awoniyi could end his loan spell with the Bundesliga outfit this month and return back to his parent club, Liverpool, reports Completesports.com.
Awoniyi, a former FIFA U-17 World Cup winner has failed to make much impact at the club since his arrival on a one-year loan deal from Liverpool last summer.
The forward has made six league appearances for Mainz without a goal to his name.

Schroeder has however failed to guarantee that Awoniyi will remain at the club beyond this summer.
“Of course we’ll have take a look at the competition for places up top. We have good strikers, lots of them. The interest in him shows how he is seen. There’s still the chance that Taiwo might leave,”Schroder told the club’s official website.
