Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed he wants Olivier Giroud to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
There is a huge question mark over whether Sarri will remain in charge of Chelsea next season, and much will depend on if they can finish in the top four of the Premier League.
However, there are also doubts over whether Giroud will stay as he continues to be linked with a return to France when the transfer window re-opens.
The World Cup winner’s contract expires at the end of the season, though Chelsea have the option to extend that deal for another year, and Sarri is keen to take it up.

Asked if he wants to hold on to Giroud, Sarri said: “Yes, of course. I know the club have an option for another season, so I think he will remain.” If Sarri remains in charge his transfer policy will depend on the transfer embargo.
If it stands for the next two windows, then keeping Giroud will be a must.
