Mohamed Salah was the standout performer as he bagged a brace and also provided two assists, in Liverpool’s 6-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
Salah is now the first player ever to reach double figures for goals and assists before Christmas.
Also he is the first player since the competition began in 1992 to produce 10+ goals and 10+ assists in four consecutive seasons.
The Egyptian star scored his 14th and 15th goals of the Premier League campaign, putting him two clear of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who has scored only three times in his last 12 appearances.
Having also assisted goals for Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz on Sunday, Salah moved onto 11 assists for the season, one above Bukayo Saka, who suffered a hamstring injury for Arsenal on Saturday.
The win against Spurs means Liverpool, on 39 points, move four points clear of Chelsea who were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton at Goodison Park also on Sunday.
The last time Liverpool tasted defeat was a shock 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield in September.
Since the defeat to Forest, they are on a run of 21 games unbeaten (18 wins, three draws).

Did Spurs lose calamitously today, conceding 6 goals in the process because Postecoglou is a bad coach? Or because Spurs players are bad? Obviously no. It was all down to poor tactics on the day.
While Liverpool undoubtedly were the better side, the game went horribly bad for Spurs because Postecoglou was too eager to equalize and went gung ho, throwing all caution to the wind, pushing players forward and leaving huge gaps at the back. All Liverpool did was exploit the spaces Spurs left at the back while searching for an equalizer. Pathetic defending by Spurs. And the 3rd goal they conceded right at the end of the first half? If they had kept the score at 2-1 going into the 2nd half, who knows? They still might have had a chance. Playing against a rampant Liverpool side who are so good at counter attacking, a more conservative approach would have served Spurs better.
BTW, if any of the big clubs around the world need a good forward at this time, they better go for the Wolves player called MATHEUS CUNHA. Week after week, these guy keeps delivering very impressive performances, in my opinion. He would be a very good buy in the coming January window.
