“Exciting day at the State House Marina today as I had the pleasure of hosting my favourite @Arsenal player, Star Boy Bukayo Saka @BukayoSaka87. I also enjoyed receiving my own signed Saka Jersey,” Sanwolu tweeted.
“As a proud #Gunner, I’m incredibly proud of their inspiring run in the Premier League with such a young team. Their determination has motivated many and shown us the power of youth. We’re committed to bringing that spirit to grassroots football in Lagos. Together let’s create opportunities for our talented young players. Thank you for visiting me Bukayo and I look forward to next season.”
Saka was born in England to Nigerian parents, but he opted to represent the English national football team, the Three Lions.

no offence to his fans, what is the purpose of this visit. he is not a Super eagles player. i mean he turned down playing for Nigeria. Will Troost Ekong, victor Moses plumtere be granted audience by a mayor or goverment official in there respective countries of birth. i could have understood the reason for the audience; if he was co rolling out a football programme for the youths in the state and then he was granted audience. football National coaches have not been paid. grant them audience too; at least it is a starting point of acknowledging their heroism for working despite non payment of their salaries. Your excellency, you got this all wrong
You dey mind these mad Country??? We don’t respect ourselves. Exactly the point will Iwobi be given audience by Rishi Sunak??? We are encouraging more Nigeria borns to do the same that’s the only message I see here because I don’t get this nonsense meeting and CS is even publishing it as what Nigeria????
SAKA IS A BUM. HE SHOULD GO AND UNDERSTUDY SADIO MANIE INSTEAD OF THIS CAP-IN-HAND ATTITUDE
Let us Face it guys Saka is a player of immensence qualities. I always say not every player will have the same talents and niether will they have the same stature. So the reason the players you have just mentioned I.e. Ekong, Iwobi and so forth will not get the same audience is because they are not achieving what saka has. We lost a real player of quality because of How Amaju Pinnick handled everything ( the Pursiute of Bukayo Saka to wear the SE shirt). So if there is anybody Nigerians should be directing thier anger at it is Amaju Pinnick not Bukayo saka. You do not go to the Media and say “if Saka wants to play for Nigeria he should come and beg”… only because he said he wants to weigh his options of England and Nigeria. Had Pinnick been more of an Honest man he would have made all necessary assurances that Saka will be taken care off, But Pinnick and his cronnies know that they will have problems with paying saka his entilements as they do with all our players because they are too busy chopping the Money.
No need criticizing the young man .. he is trying to repay back by coming..so we need not throw the baby along with the bath water.
If u can put ur address here Saka wil visit u before going back.
Your statement is overbearing. Let see how the Governor will react to Victor Osimhen when he return to Lagos where he was born by Edo Parents. Has the Hon. Governor ever officially received Ighalo not only for his international exploit but also for his charity organizational work he is doing Lagos ?. It could well be said that Saka is maternally related to the Honorable Governor why the Governor is so exacted to receive the young player in his Villar.
