Southampton are believed to be one of four clubs still in the mix to land Chelsea defender Gary Cahill this summer. The former England international looks to have played his final game for the Blues and the experienced centre-back is set to move on to pastures new this summer.

Saints are looking to bolster their options at the back and veteran Cahill is thought to have been identified as a summer transfer target by the south coast outfit. However, they will face competition, with newly-promoted Sheffield United being connected with the 33-year-old, while West Ham United and Derby County are also thought to be in the mix.
The Rams still have a chance of playing Premier League football next season, as they are in the Championship playoff final, so being reunited with former team-mate Frank Lampard could be an option for the Southampton target.
