UD Almeria forward Umar Sadiq has been nominated for Segunda Division Player of the Month for January, Completesports.com reports.
The 23-year-old who linked up with Almeria from Serbia’s Partizan Belgrade last October has become one of the most influential members of the team.
Sadiq scored four goals in two league appearances for Almeria in January.
The striker bagged a hat-trick in the 3-1 home win against Ponferradina and the 2-2 home draw against Sabadell.
Overall he has scored 10 goals in 19 league appearances for his club this season.
The former Glasgow Rangers of Scotland player will battle Las Palmas’ Sergio Ruiz Alonso and
Bernardo Jose Espinosa of Girona FC for the individual prize.

Congratulations on the nomination, you deserve it.
Shouldn’t it be Secunda?
This one wey Sadiq open mouth yaaaa like this, hope no problem 🙂
Anyway, with his performances of late, Sadiq is a MUST INVITE in the next round of SE matches. It is inconceivable that this boy will be left out again. He is an excellent backup to Osimhen. And the 2 of them can play together. Wow, that would be an explosive combo! Onuachu would be a nice plan B option to have on the bench, just in case we need to approach a game differently.
You wey suppose to dey listen to UB40. A beg park well. Sadiq Umar is plan b, Paul Onuachu is a far better plan a. Na so una do wey una sack Lampard. Now the guy dey sing ‘I got you babe (of UB40)’ while waiting for another role. Make we see what your new Chelsea coach go do. Yeye dey smell.
Many people (myself included) believe that sadiq will be a better back up to Victor osimhen, but following coach rohr’s way of doing things, he would most likely put onuachu as osimhen’s back up, citing the number of goals he has scored this season as the reason.
Paul may be in good goal scoring form for his club but for him to be the ideal and capable back up to Victor Osimhen, he will have to start using that form to score goals for the Super Eagles.
