The duo of Nigerian internationals, Emmanuel Amuneke and Dosu Joseph has blasted Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr for inviting Galatasaray defender, Valentine Ozornwafor to the senior national team for the friendly games against Cameroon and Mexico.
Ozornwafor, who made just an 8-minute cameo role for Galatasaray in their 6-0 whitewashing of Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Super Lig, was among the 23-man squad that finally made Rohr’s squad.
Reacting to his inclusion to the team, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told The Punch that the German tactician has failed to invite players based on merit.
“There are so many inconsistencies with the way players are being invited, but the coach determines who comes into the team and who plays as well. That’s his job.

“You can’t invite a player who has played only eight minutes to the Eagles. We must be honest with ourselves and tell ourselves some bitter truth.
“I’m sure we have some defenders either in the Nigeria Professional Football League or in Europe who deserve the chance in terms of talent and form.”
In the same vein, Dosu criticized Rohr for inviting a player that just played 8-minute in the Turkish to the Super Eagles ahead of quality players that are playing regularly for their clubs in Europe.
“His (Ozornwafor) invitation sums it up. How do you invite a player who has played only eight minutes to the senior national team for a friendly? The coach must have seen a lot from the player in the eight minutes he played all season.”

Now it is confirmed that the accident that Dosu was involved in touched his brain then for Amuneke he is just a shameless human being, someone who wasn’t able to manage Tanzanian team every time his job is to criticise mr Rohr what is wrong about Val invitation to camp for someone not playing in his club doesn’t mean he is bad, after all the guy is still young,
@Ubah your submission lacks substance and intelligence. Laying curses and abuses for their opinion without giving good facts on why they should be invited, reeks of someone lacking intellectual capacity to discuss the topic on ground. I am a die hard Genorh Rohr supporter but I am scrambling for excuses to give for this invitation. Not even Dr Drey will find the eloquence to wash this dark spot away. It lacks any meaningful explanation. For sometime, his decision on players invite, hasn’t been consistent and that really worries me because before now, Genorh Rohr will never invite this guy. Never!!!!!!
You father qualified Tanzania for AFCON right? Your father won the FIFA U17 WC right? Rohr ass licker.
Idiot
Bitter truth indeed! Valentine must have shown the coach alot in 8 mins. If we must be honest 8 mins is not enough to merit an invitation.
I made similar observation about the inclusion of Ozonwafor and as usual Belmadi boy die-hard fans saw nothing wrong with this injustice to players who played more minutes in Europe.. How on earth did this guy get invited when there are better options.
This slot could have been well utilized by inviting a defensive midfielder that plays regularly. The past season,, Samson Tijani and Nwobodo played more minutes than this guy. Perhaps, Samson performed really well (better than Onyeka) in the few minutes he was on the field the last time.
This us what you get when a coach makes no fuss about being owed 6mon5h salary..
May be what some said on the forum the last time was right, “slots bring preserved for some players as the reason for not expediting the applications of Lukman, Ejiara, and others..
The good thing is that he signed a contract with some conditions that must be fulfilled.
AFCON 2022 will decide.!
@Larry i guess since NFF is owing this coaches this little injustice of corruption is how to get funds to survive. An hungry man must wack whichever way.
Maybe you can name other inform defenders playing regularly in Europe that should have merit a call up. This is a player playing regularly for Gala U23 team. Just because he only played 8 minutes for the main team all season doesn’t mean he’s not active with other developmental teams of Galatasaray.
Oga please tell this i too know people on this forum,
Ozowanfo is the only left footed centre back at oga Rhor’s Beck and call hence the invitation.
If Musa that has been inactive for so long can be invited why not ozowanfo that has made a couple of appearance for Galatasaray this season?why the double standard?
… @Akp. Guy you sound very funny and awkward! Which one is Ozornwafor is the only left footed centre back available to Rohr? So being the only left footed centre back means he will just easily dribble his was from defence to the opponent’s goal and get us a goal? If you do not have comprehension problems, you will know Amuneke and Dosu did not talk about Ahmed Musa here because we all know once active he is very dependable… if you care just answer the question, does Ozornwafor merit the callup? It shows Coach Rohr’s inconsistent application of his metrics for player invitation… Pure and Simple!
That is why I said standard should be set and mentained no matter whose ox is gored…If we say no activity in club level no national team call up let it remiain so no matter who is involved but Nigerians said no we must bend the rules for certain people….Yes left footed players should be included in teams inorder to balance the team,Most German coaches like that
Many of our defender’s aren’t available for various reasons hence the invitation of Ozonwafor. If anyone knows a better defender available they should please name him.
The likes of Akpoguma,Balogun,Omeruo,Sanusi,Ajayi are either involved in playoffs or are crocked so Rohr has to invite the next in the pecking order to the listed. So if you know any defender in the top 10 European league fit and available better than Ozonwafor please I would love to know this player.
Apparently, the gaffer must have followed Ozonwafor from his loan spell in Spanish segunda division and must have impressed Rohr.
Galatasaray called him back from loan possibly for playing well otherwise he won’t be making their match day squad. And hopefully, next season he would feature prominently for Galatasaray and from what we saw of this young fella in the Flying eagles,he is a dependable defender with a good height, composed on the ball and a good ball playing left footed central defender.
He sure has the qualities Rohr wants from his defender’s hence his invitation despite not playing a lot of games but he would soon.
Well said Brodaman. Valentine Ozornwafor na baller. He will do well next Season. Jah bless all deserving Super Eagles players.
Sometimes I imagine the way we criticized coach Rohr and his backroom staff as if we know better than them or we are part of designing their strategy framework.
Firstly let’s ask ourselves, what is the essence of friendly? Especially friendly matches that not meant as preparation for major tournament like the Afcon or world cup, which we haven’t even qualified for yet.
The main essence of friendly matches of this status, is to unravel raw talent that can give a considerable amount of competition to our established stars or at most stand in as plan B, C or even D. Apart from Zaidu, and Collins, there’s no other natural left footer that can play at that back four or as wingback, hence part of the justification for ozorwanfor invitation.
Secondly, was Ozorwarnfor invited for any competitive games for SE in the last 2yrs? The answer is no, is he not active for his club? Does Rohr and his staff doesn’t know he exist?, the truth is this friendly is a dead rubber game of no significance, so fringe players can be tried and see what they can offer at same time boost their confidence.
Thirdly, the NPFL boys that were invited, will they be involved with SE when the real qualifiers started? The answer is No, which means majority of them were only there to boast their morale and aclamitised themselves as to how things works in the SE camp.
Fourtly, even at club level, fringe players, academy players, newly bought players are the one most clubs used to procecute their preseason friendly, just to see if they can promote one or two of them to the senior team, I guess those coaches also don’t know what they are doing abi.
We need to understand how things works, not to always rush to condemn people for doing what he thinks is best for his work to achieve his objectives.
Amunike and Dosu knows next to nothing other critism albeit unnecessarily. Do they congratulate the coach when he qualified unbeaten? They won’t do that, lazy ass exinternational.
No wonderTanzania withheld Amuneke’s pay. A good soccer coach does not condemn players in the press.
Hahaha lol
I have read many past eagles player getting their chance to represent Nigeria by chance, why not now.
Val and awaziem are the future central defenders of the eagles. we saw how they performed in the under 23 return leg match against lybia. it is good for the coach to use the opportunity to integrate val. onyeka was played out of position the last time we cannot judge his performance yet. my concern is nwakali and nwobodo these guys will add value to the eagles midfield especially in absence of iwobi.
I would rather invite a Galatasary-B defender to the SE as back up CB than any of those Enyimba CBs we saw in the CAF CL…..If that’s what the CBs from the best team in the league can offer, then I’ll rather “waste the national team slot” on a B-team defender from a big club like Galatasaray. It’s unarguable that Valentine still has far brighter prospects and future, and better coaching and training than those things Enyimba calls central defenders. It’s nobody’s fault that we are quite short of outstanding options in central defense at the moment, neither can we list just 2 natural CBs for a doubleheader. Moreover, Ozonwafor isn’t new to national team settings….the devil I know is still better than the angel I don’t.
It’s a simple case of the desirable not being available hence the available being the desirable.
I was really expecting as I was reading through that Dosu and Amuneke will mention one name….just one CB that caught the eye this season that should/would have been a better call up instead of Valentine…..but even the matter hook them for throat…..LMAO. They only ranted baselesly as usual but no better ideas. Like many of Rohr’s critics they are just better off being critics because they often times are bereft of better ideas than what the coach is/has implemented in the prevailing circumstance.
That was the same way they were howling when Rohr brought a teenage goalkeeper from the German 4th division into the national team. 2 years later the boy finishes the season as the best goalkeeper in the dutch eredivise….. LMAO… people wey Sabi pass the coach…Lolz
Well said Brodaman. I and I will always stand by all deserving Super Eagles players. Just like some of our other players, Ozornwafor is having it tough at the moment at Galastasaray, that does not mean we should overlook him. Jah bless all deserving Super Eagles players.
Well said Dr Drey.
From Amuneke’s submission in this regard, I couldn’t help but wonder what type of decisions he will take if he were to be in Rohr’s shoes.
As for Rohr’s arm chair critics on this forum, if Val hadn’t been invited, some of them will clamour for him & call Rohr names in the process, same way they clamored for an Nwakali that wasn’t even active in a B team.
That is my main man talking not some soccer bet players on this forum, that are mentally sick like Amuneke and dosu
Amuneke won’t get super eagles job never
Most of the time, when these ex-internationals criticize Rohr this vehemently, it is because he has removed food from their mouths by not inviting their players. We are playing a friendly, and this is the time for Rohr to experiment as he wishes. Val’s invitation does not mean he will start. Ekong and Awaziem will start, if available. However, Val is capable of doing a good job if given the opportunity.
One guy I would like to hear more about is Stanley Amuzie. He did so well at the U-23 level and at the Olympics. His trademark was his energetic overlapping runs from the left back position, and his ferocious shots. Back then, I thought he was a Taye Taiwo 2.0.
He was in the Nigeria squad that was eliminated from the 2017 Afcon by Egypt. Did a great job marking Salah in both games home and away. Then he moved to Sampdoria, and his career has nose dived to the point where he is now playing for a Finnish club.
Really baffling to see how the career of such a promising talent can stagnate for so long. Ordinarily, Amuzie should be challenging the hell out of Sanusi for the left back position. Alas, it has not come to pass.
All they’re trying to do is frustrate the gaffer to resign and leave the SuperEagles for them so that they can take his job and bring in their own players to take us back to the days of missing 3 out of 4 AFCONS including back to back failures. I implore them to be patient till after the AFCON at least and we’ll see if they can win us the WorldCup. This is why I will forever respect Pinnick. When all these people where trying to get him to sack Rohr after the Sierra Leone debacle he asked them a simple question on what basis should he sack Rohr? What justification do you guys have to sack a coach that has won over 60% of his matches and a coach with the best away record in SuperEagles history?
For me once Rohr leave I will prefer another foreign coach to take over the SuperEagles. Putting the SuperEagles in the hands of all these local ex internationals will take us 100 steps backward watch this space. That’s how they almost frustrated Westerhoff out of the job after Senegal 92. If not for the backing of the Federal government he would’ve been gone long before the glory days afterwards in 94.
I was also expecting them to name at least one better option in Central defense who should merit a call up, I’m still waiting to hear one name better than a proven youth international whom the gaffer has called up before and a natural left footer at that. Besides it’s only a friendly, are we saying we can’t give the gaffer a chance to try other options?? Yet they’re the ones crying all over the place that he should try other players in a dead rubber game instead of calling up the regulars all the time for inconsequential matches.
Osaze urhoghide of Sheffield Wednesday could been the best option
I just dislike shallow thinking! Both Amuneke and Dosu know for a fact that Ozornwafor was imposed on Rohr by the powers that be. Remember this people were part of the Eagles setting for a long time and therefore knows exactly what they are saying. Ozornwafor himself can’t defend his invitation. Sorry o blind fanboys and girls!
Mr man how market I see sey customer no dey abi,but no wahala keep ur bread u go sell am tomorrow
A fan boy will always be a fan boy! I’m privy to all the underground scenes that goes on in football which your ignorance doesn’t know. I sabi both naija and outside, ok?!
Lmao!! Ozonwanfor was imposed on Rohr by power that be?? Lol! I Dey laugh in ibibio. Did you just come across a keyboard and get excited that you don’t know what to type? Amunike and Dosu’s biggest achievements with Nigeria was 94 and 96 that’s a quarter century ago. They know a new generation is about to surpass their achievements that’s why they’re looking for every opportunity to discredit the good work Rohr is doing. If Ozonwanfor can not defend his invitation why can’t you name at least one better option in Central defense that should’ve been called up ahead of him? If we are blind followers at least we blindly follow someone that have qualified for 3 major tournaments with games to spare. We blindly follow someone that took us from 70th in the world to 32nd. We blindly follow someone that took us from 16th in Africa to a steady 3rd over the last few years. Let us continue to blindly follow him. Hopefully one day Amunike and Dosu will free you from the blindness that has beclouded your reasoning. Lmao!!
Oga Ayphillydegreat, please and please. I am begging you, and I don’t mind to beg you again, please let call a spade a spade.
You said it all in your comment and you even be proud of Oga Rohr achievements over the five years ba?
Are you kidding me huh?
With all these now, what we can call his achievement are the Bronze medals he won in Egypt.
Algeria didn’t have all these achievements but they won the last Afcon in Egypt and beaten Super Eagles Oga Rohr inside out twice?
And you are still counting on these Oga Rohr FIFA ranking and with games to spare abi? Continue……
You see my friend, Mexico is a big team any day any time and if Oga Rohr don’t take this match seriously, he may be fired after the match because Mexico won’t stop scoring goals against Eagles if the chances comes on their way.
Hmmm. Mr. Ayphillydegreat, are you in support of Nigeria or Oga Rohr?
You have a choice to make but remember that Oga Rohr will come and go but you have no place other than Nigeria.
Mr. Ayphillydegreat, you know I love you so much but at this point, we have to tell ourselves the bitter truth which many Nigerians hate to hear.
I am not sorry to say this at all, Oga Rohr is not capable of building anything.
He doesn’t have a better replacement for Balogun and co in the back over the five years and giving players few minutes while inviting them is the problem his team is having now.
Please and please, let’s be honest with ourselves for once and stop dreaming.
God bless you my friend. God bless us all. God bless Nigeria!!!
I’m really struggling to fathom all your ramblings. Why are you worried about the game against Mexico that is still over a month away? Why not worry about the one next week?
The last time I checked the match against Mexico is also just a friendly so why do the coach have to make it a do or die affair other than to give others who can be available a chance to prove themselves.
Our greatest SuperEagles lost 5-1 to Holland before France 98, the Atlanta 96 DreamTeam lost 3-1 to Togo in Lagos before going to the Olympics and conquered the world. Even Westerhoff”s iconic side lost 3-1 to Sweden before the WorldCup in USA did heaven fall then??
Our focus now is on the WorldCup qualifiers coming up in September and that’s what this friendlies are all about. The WorldCup qualifiers will determine the players that will go to the AFCON in Cameroon. Why giving yourself sleepless nights over an inconsequential friendly against Mexico that’s only meant to test some players on the outside looking in?
You can cry all you want about winning only a bronze medal after all your ex internationals couldn’t even qualify for that tournament back to back and that remains a fact so deal with it or continue rambling.
A fan boy will always be a fan boy! I’m privy to all the underground scenes that goes on in football which your ignorance doesn’t know. I sabi both naija and outside, ok?!
Your problem is simple, whoever criticizes is a hater! Sorry o if na so your parent train you. Just to lecture you a bit, what both Amuneke and Dosu did is called “constructive criticism”. N’gwanu?
Lol! Constructive criticism indeed! And they can’t come up with a single option that merits a call up better than Ozonwanfor?? Wetin you know wey dey go on for Naija and outside Naija wey we no know?? Because I reside abroad doesn’t mean I’m not conversant with whatever is going on in my country. I have numerous insiders in Nigerian FA who are my very good friends so anything out of the ordinary that you know why not provide us with the proof?? Show us the proof that Ozonwanfor was forced on Rohr by powers that be?? Your parents train you to be switching your name from Ade to Kenneth to Sam so that you can have a few names to support your shallow thinking Lmao!! You think we’re your Mugu you’re defrauding from on the internet. Mr fraudster don’t worry FBI will soon get you like your masters who are eating beans already. Just to claim a voice Lmao!! Oleee!!
My foolish friend! I’m neither a pro nor anti Rohr ok. The coach passed his coaching licences likewise myself. The man is doing his work in the environment he found himself. Oga wey know every fraudster, even Ozornwafor knows he needs more of resetting and early pre-season to catch up for next season. Tell your ‘good friends’ in the FA to tell you the truth about what is really happening. I know enough of what is happening in football circle to lecture you bros. I’m suggesting we create an audio/video conference group to always analyse important topics in our football and maybe then you will realise that Sam is neither ‘Ade’ nor ‘Kenneth’!!!
My dumb ass friend as foolish as you and your fellow morons like Chima are. If you have coaching licenses like the coach why not Kuku apply for the coaching job and invite your own players that merit a call up. I asked you a simple question to give me at least one better option in Central defense that is better than what is available to the gaffer at the moment moron is here talking about lecturing me football Lmao!! You know enough in football circles to lecture your fellow morons not me ok. Since yesterday you just scratch up some data Lmao!! It is your fellow shallow minded sentimental unreasonable and miserable morons like Chima and co that you can go ahead to lecture about football. I get una time today.
@Sam Big ups for giving this ignorant guys what they deserve, if they are able to fool majority of gullible followers on the forum I’m glad that we still have your kinds together with Jimmy who will not buy their dirty antics of talking down on reasonable people. At a point I felt sad and watched major forumites sinking and buying into their dirty mindsets. Much love to fellows like Jimmy and yourself who has refused to be cajoled into puppets like Ubah and UBFE who are true reflection of their masters. Drey and this Ayphilly of a person disgust at the least when they try to make arguments at any given chance even if they agree to a submission but due to weakness of acceptance they come up with the opposite of every right submission just to be seen as mr i too know.
Just yesterday or two i gave the idiotic Drey a like and positive remark when he gave a decent submission but the idiot will now come out today to defend this unjust move of Rohr and then cometh his vice speaker aphilly to support the nonsense. When they have nothing else to say then they end up saying people are using different names. Why not leave that to CS to decide crazy morons exposing their weakness of acceptance on the public space. Show me your followers and i will tell you who you are Drey and Ayphilly.
That tells that you only talk from both side of your mouth fair weather fan of the highest order. Miserable moron of the highest order. I ask you to give us one better option you’re crying all over the place like a shegoat on heat Lmao!! Do I have to agree with you at all? I don’t think so. Everyone on this forum knows where I stand so you are not in the position to tell me what I already know miserable dumb ass. Continue with your rants or continue with me I get your time today like I’ve done to you in the past miserable asshole.
This Ayphilly or what’s his name is a real fool o. Why should I give another option? To whom much is given, much is expected. So if dem no invite Ozornwafor then nobody exist wey fit play. The foolishness in you beclouded your reasoning to realise that….(1) we had nothing against Rohr and Val, that we just felt Amuneke and Dosu are within their right to express their displeasure over the ill that is the problem in the Nigerian society. (2) You are the only ‘clean’ Nigerian that knows every fraudsters and who happens to be the only one enjoying unlimited wifi. (3) If u sabi fly plane then you suppose all dey work for British Airways. My man, your foolishness no get rival!
Look at this imbecile. Is it my fault that you have to borrow money to buy data?? Abi is it my fault that you are living in a rat hole inside Zambisa forest that make you not get data since yesterday? Oloshi Oponu sọwenu. I asked you one simple question since like 3 days ago you can’t answer what does that say about you? Are you the only one who knows or is affected by the Nigerian society? Wetin concern me with the problem in the Nigerian society that has eating your brains out? That’s if brain dey your head at all. Your senselessness and cluelessness is beyond remedy. I will be here tomorrow when you find data to borrow stupid imbecile. Idiot like you who have coaching license like the coach can’t come up with a single option. Miserable moron with chicken brain. Even chicken brain self will work better than the useless one you’re here bragging about. Better crawl back to your rat hole I will see you tomorrow morning if you’re lucky enough to find someone to borrow you data Oloshi.
When you lack Vision and focus, the next thing is to be running around the bush.
I asked this question last week or so and I won’t hesitate to ask the same question today.
What is the essence of these friendly matches?
Is this the way to prepare a team for a tournament?
Is it the way to prepare for the world cup qualifiers?
I thought Oga Rohr made a mistake with the list against Cameroon but now, I understand.
That Mexico match is a great opportunity for our unused players.
This is the best time to build a B team because all of our regular players won’t be available according to Oga Rohr.
Mexico may disgrace Oga Rohr Super Eagles on that day against Mexico.
Even, our main team always struggles when playing against Mexico and not to talk of what Oga Rohr is trying to do with the Mexican team.
Mr. Rohr should not give excuses after the match.
You have to go all out to play Mexico.
This is a rare opportunity for Dessers, Yakubu, Alanpasun, Osagwe, Alfa, Abubarka and many order players.
Many of these players deserve to be there against Mexico.
Why this? Nothing wrong if he called this player but what is the point of doing this?
Is this player going to get another chance to represent Nigeria?
I am not seeing any continuity in this.
When we patriotic Nigerians are talking now, they, Oga Rohr fans will attack.
Oga Pinnck, for sure history will remember you.
This is very painful. Oga Rohr have spoiled this opportunity against Mexico.
Why not involving the likes of Dessers and other irregular players to come for this match against Mexico?
He will say because his main players not available making Mexico game an unconvincing one.
His fans are making excuses already for Oga Rohr but wait a minute, let us wait till next week before the excuses now.
We all love Oga Rohr but is this way to go?
The time will tell. We are watching. God bless Nigeria!!!
Friendly match is a do or die affair my dear AY.
Wether it is a friendly match or not, you can never see Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Holland, Uruguay and other top teams in the world taking a friendly match very slightly why Nigeria?
Look gentleman, what kind of meat a cat killed in the bush that wanted to hire a tipper’s driver?
Nonetheless, you are missing the point here AY. You can’t rope me on this issue. Kai, mba. Not today.
So therefore, don’t worry, when the time comes, you won’t be struggling to fathom all my ramblings anymore.
You have bn saying that repeatedly that ex players failed to qualify Nigeria in three occasions forgetting that NFF didn’t give our local coaches half chance Oga Rohr his getting from the NFF still, we have the players not the team you and I can call a team of Nigeria over the five years?
Oparanozie that called a spade a spade, what happened to her?
We don’t value our own my man.
However, the Cameroonian team is not superb at the moment so, no need to go there.
I love Super Eagles and I don’t want its down fall but I am more concerned about Nigeria image against the Mexican team.
So for that reason, I have to be worried.
Mexican team have no mercy when it comes to football and they can crack down any team any day any time. Sir, no time for errors and excuses bla bla bla, we have done that in the past and no more blabbing.
We are here for a serious business. We have tired of silver and bronze medals. We have won that in the past. All we are asking from Mr. Rohr is to blend our raw players together to form a solid team that can beat any team in the world.
We want to win trophies. Who don’t like better thing? Absolutely nobody. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
@Omo9ja, honestly you are just a confusionist that has a small brain. A friendly match is to test players and tactics, that’s why there are more opportunities to make a substitution in a friendly match than a regular one. We should focus more on the game tactics that Gernot Rhor uses rather than the players, the players used in any match does not equal success. It’s a combination of tactics and players.
Don’t forget this morning dosage oo, it’s very important that you take it
… What should really be bothering us is why the players like Ademola Lookman, Ovie Ejaria are taking forever to play fir Super Eagles… I believe those two are being prevented from representing Nigeria… It makes no sense that the switch is taking almost three years yet no end in sight. Rohr to me does not seem keen on those two… He keeps talking about Eze, somehow I do not believe Eze is Superior to Ejaria and Lookman will walk into the team… So the question is… Who does not want these guys starring for Super Eagles?
@JimmyBall .. ( Rohr to me does not seem keen on those two ) .. Chaiii So it’s Rohr that will grant the players permission to switch to SE abi ? Rohr don suffer for this life mehn
I guess Rohr now does the job of FIFA , NFA , ENGLISH FA and other organisation in the world .
Sometimes it’s best to say nothing bro . If you want to blame anyone than you should take your blame to NFA , ENGLISH FA and FIFA
Perhaps you are not aware , The ENGLISH FA need grant the players permission to switch to SE .
NA WA for una 4 dis blog sef .. Smh 4 u
@NA ME TALK AM… Jamil Musiala took Germany just two weeks… I said keen… Recently Rohr spoke about his admiration again for Eze and we have a player who I think is better in Ejaria, even lookman.why are these two taking forever to switch?
Lol, i just read that bournemouth star, billing is reconsiderin switching to nigeria after denmark snubbed him! Lmao….. This guy is funny
They are all waiting on the ranks for an opportunity to come and feast on dead carcasses. That’s the job of these useless ex internationals (Amuneke inclusive). He (amuneke) has never said anything positive about Rohr even when he deserves some commendation at some point. All he does is to look for loopholes and gbam!, begin to spew garbage unnecessarily. He says he’s not interested in the super eagles job but his body language says it all. Painting a grim picture of the coach to make it look as if he doesnt know his job. What’s wrong with a coach inviting a player of interest to him for a friendly match???? . Playing less time as it is the case with ozornwarfor for a club could be attributed to a lot of factors one of which could be out of favour syndrome which some players experience most times in their clubs until they make a move to where they would be valued more. It happened to iheanacho (at man city) ighalo (at man utd) et al but that does not excuse the fact that they are very good players. Allow the coach to do his job biko, make una leave this man alone. I wonder if these people are part of csn media team that they are always readily available for useless interviews?? I think nff should consider paying these guys pension at least to keep their eyes away from another man’s job.
I think it has more to do
with the English FA, and oliseh is yet to have a Nigerian passport.
That apart, the midfielders at disposal are still ahead of ejiara, Etebo is in form and aribo is also inform, iwobi is still the mainman, if oliseh joins the team for example, ejiara will have to work harder to be able to command a regular shirt in the eagles set up, he also have to move to a top division football he is not getting younger. As for lookman i think he is the main target of the eagles considering the inconsistency of kalu and the declining form of musa, but if he nor show up due to the switch delay, we still have other options like ejuke, onyekuru, moses simon (simon is the most inform nigerian winger) and iwobi can also play that wing, who knows if victor moses may return aswell, however if oliseh and lookman join the team at this stage for afcon, it will be a complete team.
Does Olise require a Nigerian Passport to travel from England to Austria for the friendly game? We might end up loosing him if the NFF continue with their level of unseriousness
Inviting someone is not the problem… You need to go ahead and field them. I will like to see Valentine Ozornwafor start at the heart of defence against Cameroun and possibly Mexico…
I think Rohr should also start scouting other Nigerian players playing for u23 sides if its true that he has been scouting Valentine from Gala U23. I feel very sad when people are blinded by loyalty and refuse to admit the truth when ought to. Ubah stop this nasty attitude you are not making any sense throwing tantrums at people just because they express their displeasure at this funny unjustified selection.
There are players in defensive midfield positions such as Nwobodo and Tijani who to me merit a call ahead of Onyeka yet we are not seeing signs of having them in the team. Like play like play favoritism is about taking us aback again, when we have the chance of creating another golden team.
At least we saw Onyeka play in the champions league which puts him ahead of Tijani and Nwobodo at the moment. Tijani is one for the future and it was Rohr who gave him his SuperEagles debut. Was it not Rohr who scouted and invited Okoye from German 4th division? What is the result today? So how do you know that he doesn’t scout other U23 players from various top clubs in Europe? I can recall when Mikel wasn’t playing at Chelsea after the fallout of the Olympics with Conte. Rohr asked that Mikel should be allowed to play with Chelsea U23 so that he can gain some fitness ahead of our important WorldCup qualifiers against Algeria at the time. This is not about loyalty or what not. This are just friendlies to test other players.
Hehehehehe…Tijani and Nwobodo merits callup ahead of Onyeka who scored 4 goals and 4 assists from DM position in 41 matches including the 10 in UEFA champions league…starting all but 1 of those 41 games…??! LMAO.
Pls go back and check the dictionary for the true meaning of MERIT….LMAO.
People who do their own scouting on the pages of CSN seem to know what Rohr’s scouts do not……LMAO
It will satisfy me for the two of you to keep quiet if you don’t affirm to our choice of players. After all we can not have the same choice of players or be fans to same caliber of players. Often time when i disagree with your views i mind my business and not try to ridicule your output so keep peace and stop encouraging tyrants like Ubah.
Maybe you too should keep you mouth shut if you do not agree with the Coach’s choice of players. After all its his job and will be the one to be fired if the players he chooses to work with fail to deliver.
Anumanu @samuel you are the highest fool in this platform, cnt you mind ur miserable life
I don’t care what anyone says… there is a certain untowardness and bias in the way certain players continue to enjoy invitation… I won’t invite Frank Onyeka to Eagles in a 100years… he is not Super Eagles material as their is no finesse to his midfield game… consistency means Rohr should have called up Samson Tijani again since the camp is even in Austria… but he went for an Onyeka, I believe Frank Onyeka is the new Mikel Agu, now let Rohr be bold to start Onyeka and Ozornwafor against Cameroun Make we really see whatsup. If an U-23 player can be called up, I see no reason why Kelechi Nwakali should not be getting a look-in… but, what do I know? We keep our binoculars to see well come June 4,2021.
That is your headache MR. Man. Unfortunately you are not in the position to determine who is SE material and who isnt…LMAO. Wait for your turn to become SE coach to determine who is SE material and who isnt. LMAO. Then you can drop a player who scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 41 games for another one who scored Zero goals and Zero assists in 18 games in ALL COMPETITIONS….LMAO. That one must be your SE material…..LMAO. It is kelechi Nwakali that is depending on penalties to be on the scoresheet without any assists for his team that is SE material…LMAO
My brother, you really have time i swear. You have people who talk from both sides of there mouth on this platform, they will do anything to justify the inclusion of a goat in the Super Eagles. I want to believe money has exchanged hands somewhere, just like they said Keshi was collecting money, so also is Rohr and his coaches. Just as someone stated, they are owed salaries so they looking for means to sustain themselves. Please can the person that said victor was playing for the under 23 of Galatasaray give us his stats for the past season. So players in the local league who have been playing week in week out could not be considered. What happened to kevin that they were all hyping here. Listen can wait for the Nations cup proper to start
Hahahaha…Jimmy’s donkey is back again….begging his master to stop arguing blindly. Im sure your radio battery has run down, that’s why you didn’t hear that Akpoguma was left out to fully recuperate from his injury. I was expecting you to also name 1 person….just 1 person that should have been invited as back up instead of Ozonwarfor, but like the rest of your seniors, you just vomitted your usual dense crap with no superior recommendation. So they told you Ozonwafor wasnt playing week-in-week-out ehn…go an search for his stats yourself…LMAO. Nobody is your servant to dig out stats for an lazy ass fellow….LMAO. Since you want to prove a point go and dig out the facts you want to use to prove the point for yourself…LMAO.
If you say rohr is collecting bribe that is your own headache until you bring proof. At least he is collecting bribe for back up players for a friendly match not collecting bribes for main team players ahead of a major tournament…LMAO. At least we are not having players like chigozie agbim, Azubuike Eguekewe who was down with chicken pox and still made AFCON squad or Gabriel Reuben who couldnt kick a ball for 6 months due to knee ligament injury and still made our tournament sqauds….LMAO
Well am not surprised that the parrot is coming out to rant. We know when you talk from both sides of your mouth. I don’t need to show stats, until the person in question shows us exactly were victor as been playing for the under-23 this season. And for your info he was mostly injured all season and when on the bench never used. So what merit his call up to the friendly when there are players who played all season. Well we know the double standard oga rorh and his crew playing
See Mr long mouth like that of a bush pig coming to tell us lies here that ozonwafor was mostly injured all season….LMAO. pls where did you get those lies from….?!
Anyways, we don’t expecting anything better from the mouth a a sheepish donkey who has absolutely nothing to offer the forum other than sheepishly following his master everywhere he goes pleading with him not to continue disgracing himself with baseles arguments….LMAO.
Everyone knows that it’s the practice for European clubs to feature their U23 players who are not yet 1st team regulars in the U23/reserve leagues before choosing to name them on the bench for first team games. If Ozonwafor has constantly been on the bench for Galatasaray, he must have been constantly featuring for the U23s. It’s a no brainer that a 21 year old back up player will not play the ANY football whatsoever from August to July and still get selected in the first team every weekend. only people with donkey brains can’t understand that……neither can they understand that the scouting team will not nominate any youth player who hasn’t played ANY football for call up.
After all these your iwanaganna bullshit you have still not mentioned 1 centre back who should have been invited ahead of Ozonwafor…..LMAO. E choke all of Una since yesterday…..LMAO. Ndi noisy hooters…..LMAO. People who know more that the coach but cannot provide better solutions and recommendations than the coach….. LMAO
I’m sure Rohr also collected bribe from Oloye when we was still in 4th division in Germany…..LMAO. That’s why Maduka is now the best goalkeeper in Dutch league 2 years after….LMAO. He must have bribed his way to become the best goalkeeper in Holland….LMAO
@Keneth, this is what you get when a coach will stoop so low to continue when his employers don’t value him.
How can a world class coach be owed salary for months and he makes no fuss about it ?
The same coach invited Onyeka and Tijani, the whole world saw how a youthful Tijani outshone onyeka in that match, rather than boost the confidence of the better player, he invited Onyeka who is not really upto Eagles standard in SE matches.
Now, it’s the turn of Ozonwafor..
Now I know why Belmadi’s boy has never won a trophy in his entire career..
You keep doing things the same way, you get same results.
An ambitious coach will never recycle underperforming players or invite a player that is surplus to requirement.
The same analog Belmadi’s boy was talking about Ighalo at a time when we have more than 4 5 SE strikers painting Europe with goals.
The same world class coach keeps calling a team he has been building for 5years”young team”, just to look for reasons for his failures..
The match against Mexico should be an opportunity to try potential SE or fringe players that are most likely to make SE bench, but Belmafi’s boy is “Rohring” for excuses to defend his technical naivety by planning to an all-local players team.
Well, we can accept excuses for friendlies but not AFCON.
To GR die-hard fans, you keep changing the narratives to fit into your world class coach actions.Your blind support will only bring same results and we will all be at the receiving end because coaches come and go!
After all this your gwoor gwoor gwoor…you still have not mentioned one name that should have been invited instead of Ozonwafor….LMAO.
Tijani who hardly played 20 games in all competitions this season for Hartebeg, starting just 10 times, Zero goals, Zero assists, should have been invited ahead of Onyeka who started all but 1 of 41 matches he played for Midjtylland (including in the UCL) with 4 goals and 4 assists from DM position…LMAO.
Apparently Tijani is the one that is up to SE standard…..LMAO. He really shone like a million stars vs Algeria playing only 5 minutes….LMAO…some people can lie…!!!!
Why not tell him to shine like a million stars in his club first by starting almost every game, with goals and assists to show for it from DM position like Onyeka. LMAO
Pls clap for yourself world class critic….LMAO.
By the way, have you gotten tired of your impersonation stunts…?? LMAO. Are you tired of fooling yourself so soon…?? LMAO
Na by playing in Champions league wey his team no win any match? Make we rest abeg… You either have it or you are just average. The average NPFL player can succeed and become a star in Danish league…
But why are the average NPFL players not playing there? Why do they go to Lithuania, Czech, Croatia, Estonia etc. that’s even if they’re good enough for those leagues. NPFL players that can’t even succeed in other African leagues. How many Nigerian players are playing in the Champions league?? The last time I checked only Zaidu made it to the quarter final with Porto. If he performs well against Cameroon please don’t change your mouth abeg. At least we can assess him one more time to see if he can be an adequate back up to Ndidi along with Shehu. What makes you think he can’t move to a better league?Onuachu was playing in Denmark before he became a hit in Belgium. We are ok with the gaffers decision on this friendlies we just want to see the players that can catch the eye going forward.
You should know that most folks who end up in Denmark often go straight from Amateur clubs like FC Ebedei, 36 Lions and Football Academies… Denmark is a stepup from Nigeria but it is not so much a tough league to play in.
Hahahahaha….average NPFL player can succeed and become a star in Danish league…..LMAO….the way you succeeded and became a star when you move out of the Nigerian league abi…..LMAO. Let the average NPFL player go pass trials in the Danish league first…LMAO. What am I even saying….let them go and pass trials in Sudanese league first….LMAO.
E easy to enter Danish league naim dem still dey play for league wey their monthly salary and allowances nor sure…??? LMAO. Even those who were called “STARS” in the NPFL became ordinary once they step out of the NPFL. Pls where is “average” Junior Lokosa today…? Pls where is “average” Paul Onobi….? Where is “average” Kingsley Sokari…? What of “average” Junior Ajayi…? Remind us where “average”, “average” Juwon Oshaniwa, “average” Gabriel Rueben, “average” Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, “average” Ezekiel Bassey, “average” Sikiru Olatubosun, “average” chikatara, “average” Osaguona Ighodaro, “average” solomon kwmbe nko..? “average” Chisom Egbuchulam and other “average” NPFL players who have used the national team to launch themselves to Europe, why have they not moved to Denmark to go become stars…..why is Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia and North Africa the el-dorado for NPFL players……LMAO. Even in these back water leagues are they even stars there yet…? Do most of them not end up back in the league after 2 years at most…? Why did Oboabona move to Georgian league if Danish league was such a easy piece of meat….LMAO.
Why is it that almost every Nigeria groomed player that is making it in Europe today isnt a product of the NPFL…? Pls can you tell us which European country your NPFL players of the last 10 years have gone to become stars and made team of the season or ended up with awards…?! A
After Ahmed Musa which NPFL top scorer has made had a career to write home about outside Nigeria…?
“…The average NPFL player can succeed and become a star in Danish league…” indeed….LMAO. Make dem go dia make we see first na…LMAO.
Pls pass me that bottle wey dey you hand, I wan see something….LMAO
I am very sorry to conclude that Amuneke has lost my respect. It’s clear he has not gotten the technical expertise to lead a big team as the super eagles in the area of player selection. He is quick to criticize but do not have the patriotic acumen to make better suggestions…I was expecting to see in his submission some suggestions of names better than the one Rhor has made… but to my utmost dismay, he could not do that. This is ridiculous.
Hahahaha…none of his co-howlers have been able to make a better suggestion as to whom should have been invited to be the 3rd CB in the 23 man team. All of them are just going gwoorr gwoorr gwoor up and down as if they have a more comprehensive dossier of all Nigeria players than the handlers of the national team…..LMAO
Shame dey even catch dem to mention Enyimba defenders…..LMAO. The matter hook all of them for throat….LMAO…because they all saw the mediocrity on display from the CBs paraded by the supposed best club in the Nigerian league….LMAO. Those ones must be more super eagles material than Ozonwafor whom we have seen in the FE, the U23 and isnt new to the SE settings.
Is Enyimba the only team in NPFL? Let them look well, we have about 19 other teams… there are tight ballers everywhere! Ball no hard like that if you good you good… The same league that produced the likes of Oboabona, Umeruo and the rest still has a lot of dudes remaining unsung!
Hahahaa….if the best team (supposedly with the best players) in your league has such rag-tag caliber of players/defenders, I dont even want to imagine what the others look like….LMAO. Your league has produced only 2 CBs who could have a fairly average career in Europe in 10 years 10 solid years. 19 20 clubs every season for 10 years…just 2 average CBs….LMAO….2 CBs who cant even tie down long term places in the SE and you think that’s something to be proud of…? LMAO.
Yes if you good you good, that’s why the really good ones dont even need to play in the league or the national team b4 cutting it in Europe. Of all the Nigeria born players making it in big in europe and the national team today, its such a shame we cant even point to a product of the league. Whereas all those ones who have used the SE to launch themselves fizzle out within 1 or 2 years of moving out of the league. Even Dannish league that you claim is easy to play in, your league players cant make it there. LMAO. Latvia and Finland seems to be where the peak of their powers can match….LMAO. What a paradox..!
One day you guys will learn to call a spade a spade and acknowledge how weak our local football is.
Abeg leave all these our friends wey sabi coaching job pass everybody. Though, personally i would have love to see this Obinna dude get invited so we can see him upclose but c’mon the man who is paid to do the job has made his list..
I just stumbled on this report, Tunisia inviting ManU and Arsenal U-23 players just to see what they can offer since they have the luxury of about 3 friendly games this fifa break.
https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/soccer/news/manchester-uniteds-hannibal-and-arsenals-rekik-get-debut-invitations-to-tunisia-squad/xq5ot3v7qte1ip7jh5uie5xq
My brother, the dude that assisted the goal scored by Tunisia vs Nigeria in last year’s friendly…yes that boy that turned kenneth omeruo inside out even in his 6 yard box was and still is a Juve U23 player….LMAO…it has still not stopped the coach from inviting him. Did that coach not see players in the Tunisian league which is heaven from most NPFL before inviting an u23 player from Juve, and not even as back up but as main starter…??? the boy has played in Italian 3rd division virtually the whole season. Yet still gets called up rather than Tunisian league players and heavens have not fallen.
But these over-sabi elements, sabi-pass-coach-and-entire-scouting-team obviously know better….LMAO.
The Tunisian coach must be taking bribes from those U23 invitees to be extending invitations to them rather than Tunisian league players…..LMAO.
We are waiting for some oversabi Tunisian ex-internationals to say it is sad the coach is inviting Hannibal Mehjbri to the national team for friendlies in off-season when he has also just played 8 minutes for Manchester United main team the whole season…..LMAO
@Dr Drey, foolishness is a compound disease o. That Tunisian boy is a player who is really below 23 years and has ample time to grow. Your Ozornwafor is a grandpa in u23 setup. Why can’t we tell ourselves the truth? Like i said, nothing personal against Rohr and Val. No Nigerian coach (foreign or local) has control on the team selection. Even the almighty Clemence Westerhof was told to pick a team that reflects ‘national character’ There is so much going on behind the scenes in both club and national settings than you know.
Nice one. Please where can I watch the championship finals online?
Lmao!! Rohr is collecting bribe to invite a Galatasaray U23 player to the SuperEagles. Wetin person no go read for this forum?? Some people will never stop embarrassing themselves on a public platform for that matter. Anyway it’s not today they’ve been typing gibberish we’re already used to it. Lmao!! Make them show us proof na?
@Keneth has said it all “ If the Coach invites a goat his fellow morons will defend such reckless selection all in the name of loyalty” Ubah what excites me most is that from your words i know you have no life so theres no need going into debate with you. We have talkatives on this forum and they know themselves and we have meaningful people as well. I will rather advise myself than going back and forth, so let those who are seeking public approval continue the line of mediocrity if thats what delights them. Las las we shall see the repercussions of corruption as there’s nothing hidden under the sun.
At least Rohr’s “goats” end up making substantial career progress within a season or 2. Where are the goats and “young raw diamonds” your previous coaches foisted on us today…?! After failing woefully in backwater leagues most of them are either back in NPFL or some 2nd division league in the middle east….LMAO
Many of you said the same thing about Maduka Okoye when he was called up.Some ex- internationals and self-acclaimed soccer pundits even described his invitation as a joke. They cited his lowly Fortuna Dessseldof reserve team and the many goals he has allowed into his net as reasons. Some cried blue murder when he conceded 4 goals against Sierra Leone after the Eagles led by 4-0 in a Nations Cup qualifier. Fast-foward to 2021,the same Maduka Okoye is now first choice at Sparta Rotterdam in The Netherlands to the extent he currently attracting interest from almighty Ajax Amsterdam. Please, with all due respect, all of you should leave Rohr alone.Coaches see what fans don’t see. Who knows,Valentine Ozornwafor ,may end up another rough diamond to be unearthed by Gernot Rohr!
Let him give the other raw diamonds such as Tijani and Nwobodo chance if they’ll not shine as well. You people should stop using national team for personal gains. The truth hurts……
We ask you and your fellow morons to provide at least one name in Central defense that merits a call up than Ozonwanfor you’re here crying about Tijani and Nwobodo. Who gave Tijani his debut?? Dumb ass.
Hehehehe…nor mind them. Tijani and Nwobodo are the central defence prospects that will understudy and provide cover for Ekong and Awaziem….LMAO. Rohr should line up a 23 man team for 2 games with just 2 natural CBs….LMAO
Waa waa waa for 3 days now, to mention a better alternative hook all of them for throat…..LMAO. That’s how baseless their criticism is….LMAO
Someone should please tell coach rohr to strengthen our midfield with promising players and not players who haven’t delivered when given a trial. We have a lot of players out their who can man the midfield for the super eagles. Yes, they are not playing in the biggest leagues in Europe but they play regularly. Players like Alhassan yusuf of Swedish side Gothenburg is a very promising player just watch his video and you will see what I mean. But none of the super eagles scouts are talking about him. Another player is nwobodo, these players once they are played in the super eagles will start getting offers from major leagues because their status will change and Im hoping that atleast one of them will be a good backup or addition to the midfield of the super eagles.
Please I can’t shout o!

HOWEVER, HAVING SAID THAT, I NOW NEED TO ADDRESS SOME OTHER POINTS ADDRESSED ABOVE- FOR EXAMPLE SOMEBODY ASKING ABOUT WHAT THE DELAY IS WITH GETTING THE RIGHT GUYS LIKE EZE, OLISEH, EJARIA, AJAYI, LOOKMAN,, BABAFEMI ETC INTO THE TEAM?

My man, if dem allow you everybody wey get naija name go dey S.E o. Point of correction, nobody is accusing Rohr of taking bribe to invite players. What i’m saying is simple, there are too many agents working in NFF and they are simply too powerful for Rohr to handle. Name a coach who has total control over his team and contract who will remain on a job while being owed six month salary. Na father christmas him be?
