A brilliant hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo earned Manchester United a hard fought 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.
United temporarily go fourth on 50 points, two points ahead of Arsenal.
It is Ronaldo’s first hat-trick for United since January 2008 and 59th overall for club and country.
He becomes professional football’s all-time leading goalscorer with 807 goals.
United have now won exactly 400 Premier League home games, becoming the first team to reach that milestone in the competition.
Ronaldo broke the deadlock on 12 minutes with an emphatic strike from outside the box following a flick from Fred.
In the 35th minute Harry Kane drew Spurs level from the penalty spot following a handful by Alex Telles.
United went 2-1 up on 38 minutes thanks to Ronaldo again as he slotted home Jadon Sancho‘s square pass.
Spurs equalized in the 72nd minute after United skipper Harry Maguire turned a Sergio Reguilon cross into his own net.
But with nine minutes left Ronaldo completed his hat-trick and scored what proved to be the winner as he leaped highest to nod a corner into the top corner.

Strikers taking care of business.
CR7 coming up big for Man United with a hattrick that secured a much needed 3 points.
And how about Ivan Toney of Brentford?
Last week, he grabbed a hattrick against Norwich City. Today, he got a brace against Burnley.
In my opinion, he’s the most underrated striker in world football at the moment. I won’t be surprised if he gets an invite to the 3 Lions soon based on his current form. Surely, Southgate must be having a look at him at this time. His penalty taking ability is off the charts. The technique he uses makes it very difficult for a goalkeeper.
If he continues like this, Pep might be giving Brentford a call, inquiring about him. Man City need a number 9, and Toney will deliver. Otherwise, Pep may get his wish and Harry Kane moves to the Etihad, then Tottenham can go for Toney as Kane’s replacement.
Whatever happens, some big clubs around Europe should be discussing Toney as we speak. Unless they don’t fancy having a quality striker in their squad.
