Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has joined former Black Stars of Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan as only two players to score in nine consecutive international tournaments.
Ronaldo’s double against Hungary in the Group F opener of Euro 2020 puts him at par with Gyan in terms of scoring at major tournaments.
Gyan scored from the World Cup in 2006 to the Nations Cup in 2017, holding the record for four years before Ronaldo equalled it in Tuesday’s European Championship tie against Hungary.

The Juventus forward scored from Euro 2004 hosted in Portugal to the on-going European Championship.
Gyan, who now plays for Ghana’s Premier League side Legon Cities, is the Black Stars all time leading scorer with 51 international goals.
He remains Africa’s top scorer at the FIFA World Cup, with six goals from three tournaments.
He is yet to score in this season’s Ghana Premier League, having struggled with injuries and fitness.

The man they call BABY JET. Outstanding international career. Even when the Ghana team was not so good, as long as they had him up front, there was always hope. Then the 2010 squad came together, and they almost made it to the world cup semis.
